Hiya,
Can anyone please tell me about how AMORC helps one's life - I have been told a few things some good, and some not so good. There are statements from other who say that once you get involved your life changes for the better, yet others say they just try and get more money from you.
So any further info would be great.
Thanks

RE: The Rosicrucians
About 30 years ago I was a member of the rosicrucian order. They provide lessons in the old egyptian mysteries. It is a loge, so you will have to find out yourself what you think of it.
RE: The Rosicrucians
During the much research that I have carried out for my book, I have reached the conclusion that the Rosicrucians are acrually one of several branches of an organisation known as The Great White Brotherhood. This is thought to have been formed by a Egyptian Pharaoh Tuthmose III during the late 18th Dynasty, (the Amana period) and was originally a group of of mystical scholars, of both sexes. Many of these scolars were in fact aspects of the Ascended Masters.
The aim of the Brotherhood was to bring together the wisest men and women of Egypt to discuss and preserve the great knowledge that they had attained. It could therefore in some ways be seen as a school of philosophy. Students from around the ancient world flocked to Egypt in order to study these philosophies and truths under the directorship of the Brotherhood.
Several mystic schools in Egypt and throughout the Middle East were united under these auspices, assuming different names in different locations. Two of these were the Essenes and Rosicrucians. Some of their members were healers and physicians, whilst others studied and translated the ancient texts. For these purposes, two principal centres were maintained, one at Lake Moeris in Egypt, where Ascended Master El Morya was born, and one in Palestine, at Engaddi, near the Dead Sea. In addition to this, for many centuries they maintained a great library and school of learning near Mount Carmel. It is here that many of their great leaders are said to have been educated.
According to channelled information however, the birth of the Brotherhood far outdates the origins of Egyptian civilisation. According to Anne and Daniel Meurois-Givaudan in their book, The Way of the Essenes, the Essenes are descended from the Priests of six tribes, who originated from a mythical land known as Atl. They were a spiritual, peace loving people, who lived on an island continent surrounded by seas, in a society made up of seven tribes. The fifth tribe was known as the people of Sem, and it is from these that the Semite race are said to have originated.
This description bears a striking resemblance to Atlantis, which also had seven Royal families, representing the seven elemental rays, of earth, air, fire, water, love, spirit and evolution, or change. As in Akhunaton’s Egypt, the main religion of Atlantis was also dedicated to the solar deity.
Over time the people of Atl forgot their connection to the Divine. Sensing a great disaster, the heads from six of the seven tribes fled their land, towards the icy wastes of the north, while The Sem fled south towards Egypt, led by a Priest known as Zurid. The land of Atl then sank beneath the waves and was destroyed. The Essenes are said to be descended from the sons of eleven wise men, Priests from the remaining six tribes who chose not to follow their people north, devoting themselves instead to preserving the treasure and secrets of Zurid.
On arrival in Egypt, and in collaboration with the Pharaoh, they decided to build a storehouse in order to protect the sacred truths and wisdoms. This may have been the Great Pyramid at Giza.
My book concentrates more on the Essenes than the Rosicrucians, so my knowledge of them is limited to what I have read on the AMORC website.
Their website describes the Order as “a non-sectarian body of men and women devoted to the study and practical application of natural and spiritual laws in their personal lives.” The aim is to help each individual member to reach their full potential. The Rosicrucian teachings are divided into different degrees, which vary in subject and intensity, and come in the form of weekly lessons known as monographs. The techniques used to impart the teachings include various types of meditation and visualisation in order to help connect with our own inner guidance, or higher self. These objectives are the same ones taught by many of the ancient Mystery Schools, and Gnostics.
Hope this helps.

RE: The Rosicrucians
Hi Solarfire
My dad was a member of AMORC for years, only he never did tell any of us what it was about. However during my study for the site, I have to write a piece on rosicrucianism, I will be happy to forward the url on to you as soon as its done. I believe Rosicrucians are a type of majician who through their study rise to spiritual heights during their time this side of life. I found this explanation... ''The purpose of Rosicrucianism was to study and promulgate esoteric Christianity within a framework of meditative disciplines, This it did by means of arcane astrological, alchemical and occult imagery, designed to hide the Rosicrucian teachings from the uninitiated, and from the church, which might prosecute the movement for heresy'' Secret knowledge. Charles Walker. Rider 1995. Which I guess explains why my father never told us anything about it. To spiritually enlighten yourself is one of the most profound life changing things you can do, also to meditate brings you peace and inner calm. I would imagine that by the descriptions I have found then this is what AMORC is attaining to do with its initiates. AMORC stands for.. Ancient & Mystical Order Rosae Crucis.
Hope this has been of some help

RE: The Rosicrucians
Hi June
I have it that modern rosicruciansim (therefore AMORC) was established in the states by Spencer Lewis between 1909 and 1916, but that the history of AMORC acknowledges that european rosicrucians did emigrate to the america's. Would this be correct also?
I was wondering are they akin to the Masonic order?
Also is the teaching of the modern rosicrucians still... awarness of karma and reincarnation, and the need for a strictly moral and spiritually useful life? I was wondering how much of the modern rosicrucian teachings have their roots in the original european teachings. Obviously, I have a lot to learn about rosicrucianism:eek:, would be very grateful for any information you could give me. L & L Shelli
RE: The Rosicrucians
Hiya,
Thanks to all of you, it really is interesting to hear your views. I have heard a lot about AMORC and I also know that they teach meditation and psychic development, and I know one or two who have got very deeply into this stuff, and have managed to alter their universes, for example they developed very strong psychic and occult power, which made uncanny things happen around them. Apparently it is because they plugged themselves into the universe.
Any other insights would be great.

Dear Solarfire
Even Reiki can do that! From my limited knowledge of The Rosicrucians and from those that I have met they teach the universal truths. Big smiles!
Dear Talisman
I thought that the largest spiritual and religious text library was based in Alexandria, Egypt where initiates went to study under Serapis Bey the library and its contents were burnt I think about 350AD by a roman can't remember his name but I have seen this documented in a few different places. It was during this period that many texts were taken and hidden away.

RE: The Rosicrucians
The story of H Spencer Lewis taking the teachings to America is correct Shelli, and yes they do fuilly acknowledge both the European and Egyptian roots of the organisation. I know nothing about their modern teachings though, other than what is on their website, and I guess that if you want to know more you would have to study them.
Kim, you are also right, the greatest library was of course the one at Aelxandira, whose destruction is well documented. From what I understand the Rosicrucians or whaever you want to call them also had a library of esoteric texts at Mount Carmel though. I do not know ehether it is still in existence, and what happened to it. just that H Spencer Lewis mentions it in several of his books.

Dear Talisman
I have never heard of this so it might be worth trying to find a supportive source. I do not doubt it but if you are going to quote it in your book it might be worth backing it up with more then one author. Sorry not meaning to tell you how to suck eggs! just a thought!

RE: The Rosicrucians
You are of course right Kim, I always try and find a second source of information before I accept anything as genuine. In fact the library at Karmel has been mentioned in at least one other book that I have, a channelled book called The Way of the Essenes. I realise that to some people a channelled book is not an authentic source of information, but to me that is every bit as valuable as more orthordox source. The library is also mentioned on several Rosicrucian websites that I have come across.
