Also - when we are low, it is hard to find our purpose within us. There is a wonderful community of people here so post in often and get to know a few. Sometimes the spiritual quest can be arduous and we can lose our way. It can sometimes help to remember that we don't find our purpose, it finds us. So you dont' need to keep searching.

Hello, just joined the forum and really do not know where or how to navigate thru so much stuff. Your post is the second one I was drawn to read. I think we are going thu the same process. I also recently found out I have a disease that is not curable by modern medicine. What I see as different is that I have already been thru the reject religion taught as child stage and have returned to the childllike belief in what my inner voice is telling me. The mind, body and spirit are wonderous things and since you have lost all and feel totally destroyed, you are now a blank canvas and you can choose to paint on it whatever you like. Sounds simplistic but unless you decide to do the painting yourself, others will paint on that canvas whatever they believe to be true. The last time I was hospitalized, the doctor cried and said he thought I would die for sure and he wanted me to beleive it too. I got rid of that doctor and will only surround myself with the energy of people who believe that I can get better. I know I have to reach out beyond my immediate circle to find that much energy and I feel this forum is another step in that direction. Sounds like we are on a similar journey and it is never fun to be alone so I expect our paths will cross often on this board.

onlysighing - how I feel for you. All the advice and words of wisdom that have been given to you here are all so right. I believe you are at the bottom of your own particular pit and the only way is up!!

Tinamay sugested you make use of your Reiki training and I agree. Just take a couple of minutes when you wake to recite and think about the 5 principles.....Just for today: I will not worry; I will not anger; I will do what needs to be done to the best of my abilities, respecting all others and, above all, giving thanks and showing gratitude for the many wonderful blessings in my life.
I appreciate the above are not true and exact interpretations of the kanjis but they are the way I recite them each morning on waking and each evening before sleeping.
I have also, surprisingly perhaps in my case, returned to using the Lord's Prayer at this time.
