Not sure if this is right place..
But I have a question on spiritual matters.
I have often read in the papers in the ad's for spiritual conscelling, which I would presume that the conscelling comes via spirit? thru the medium or whatevere one wishes to call themselves, which if I am right, that would mean no training... as spirit would 'know' best for the person that you are working with...
If you are doing normal counscelling that you have to have training..
I have no problem by the way with anyone doing spiritual counscelling, but just wondered where these people stand on being allowed to advertise like this and if it is allowed in general..
I know that if I wanted advice on a counscelling level I would wanto to see a spiritual one..
I hope I have written this in a way that makes sense as I know whatI am thinking yet sometimes cant seem to get the words right..

Depends if you think spiritual means being able to contact spirits... there was a recent thread about this, but it's possible to be able to contact spirits and be completely unspiritual. What did the advertises actually mean? 🙂

Hi, I sometimes consider terming what I do spiritual counselling, because often my readings turn into a counselling session of sorts, supporting the person in their choices and viewpoints while presenting other facets based on life experience and my spiritual training. Having said that, I have done a basic foundation in counselling skills too!
If you're considering a spiritual counsellor, I'd do the same as with any other kind of therapist - check their credentials. Find out what practical training they have and what their spiritual foundation is (spiritualist, Christian, etc). That should give you a better basis on whether they would work for you.
You're right to be cautious. Spirit may 'know best', but free will has to be acknowledged.

I think this is so true which I have found out after trusting....
I cannot remember what the advert said, the more recent one, but it was on the lines of need help, spiritual counscelling available, and something about they work with children also.... it was in a freebie paper..

I do readings but most are done via email and when I connect if you like they are more like counscelling rather than give them answers, but do not have any counscellig skills, the words just flow... which is why I was asking the question, although I would never class myself as any kind of counscellor, it just made me wonder what the difference was other than one has training and a certificate and the other, has trained to link with spirit or read the cards..
I agree spirit may know best.. but on that one, 'what' level of energy is working with another, and that may know best may not be the best, having been down that road with someone who was not as they seemed.. and if I had listened to their advice I would of made the biggest mistake in my life ever... but I listened to me... and just knew that was wrong....
I suppose I am curious at these 'labels' of what people call themselves and was it a way to get round not having any certification, as the ad I saw, they did not say they were certified.
