Ok, I know I am in the spirituality forum but I thought we could have a light hearted natter.

I almost had a little nap this evening..you know you've nearly dropped orf, but just as you hit that threshold between here and there, you get either a jolt, or an insight, or a vision.

What did I get..the image of my neck on a chopping block!, Literally as if from the past I was to be beheaded:rolleyes:, face down, no cover over me 'ead, and my tangled and matted hair pulled over my scalp, to leave the way for a clean chop:eek:

Now when I came round to full consciousness a few seconds later,,this little vision got me thinking.

I frequently have throat problems in that often have a tickly cough, and as I make my living by speaking all day (bet you'd never have guessed that;)), it can be quite a nuisance. I know there are several mind body connections with throat issues and creativity, but I wondered if it's a carry over from getting me neck chopped and the blade got stuck near me adams apple (in the life of a man of course), you know like a knot in a piece of wood?

Anyway.....does anyone have any other scars or issues they think might be from a carry over.

My daughter went to playgroup years ago with a little boy who was diagnosed with Aspergers as he couldn't talk - my daughter was the only on who could communicate with him and calm him down.

His mum was told that in a past life he had been a outspoken leader and had had his tounge cut out and that it wasn't that he couldn't talk it was that he was too afraid to talk!

He went on to attend a special needs school and when I bumped into his mum a couple of years ago he was talking!

I have done regression and was a young lad who lost his life young during a war in a submarine - perhaps this was the reason I struggled with confined spaces...

I knew someone many years ago that had a tremendous fear of fire with no rational understanding of why...
One day she was regressed and the first and most powerful life story came up as her as a woman on an island that suffered a volcanic eruption and lava flowed everywhere killing her entire village and eventually her too; the emotive description of running in bare feet with them burning from the heat is something I'll never forget.

A little harrowing a tale perhaps - but it would seem to be a likely seat for her fear of fire in this lifetime.

Hi Apollo, your post remined me of a young lad we used to know, we lost contact years ago he was about six then, the 2nd of three children.

He was born with very severe exzema, his skin used to peel away in sheets till his skin was bleeding and infected, his mother tried all sorts of healing methods to help him.

I wondered at the time perhaps had he been buried alive, or burned to death somewhere along the line. I just hope he got to a point of some semblence of healing poor little fella.

(Beginning to think this should have been a halloween thread :005:)

I do definitely accept (having seen the evidence at first hand) that circumstances experienced in past lives can be the cause of emotional and mental conditions of the current personality. However, I find it hard to accept that a physical illness or condition of the current body can be caused by a past life event or circumstance. That said, I know that eczema can manifest as a result of extreme emotional turmoil here and now (but again the true cause of this lies in the subtle bodies).

I too agree although not sure if past life issues are connected to our physical body in this life. However, I remember once reading about a person who had a scar on his body which resembled a gun shot wound but he had never been shot at in this life. When he did regression found that he had been shot in a previous life 😮

I am still a little foggy in my belief in past lives. I have had past life regressions and met some lovely characters from decades gone by. One thing that came through all the lives though was that I was a writer (male and female). Even when I was a stable-hand with huge great hands, I still used to write - poetry of all things! This was in France in 1200 and something. I didn't die too well in that time, having been kicked by a horse in the ribs and laying in the stable in the dark waiting to die.

I always think that if more than one incident of an unknown shows itself then there is some truth in it, therefore, the more I hear of or read about, the more I believe.

My first thought on reading your post, Soo Soo, (and I really don't want to diss your experience) was that a stable hand in France in 1200 would not have been able to read or write. There might be a whole lot more behind that life than you saw at first.

... unless he was actually the son of a rich man and ended up as a stable lad because of circumstances beyond his control 😮 😉

I have a friend who couldn't bear anything heavy round her neck - even a warm cushion to relieve her neck-ache.

It turned out that, when she was touring and visited a square in Albi in southern France where the were in the 11-13th centuries, prickles of fear run up her spine. After much spiritual investigation it turned out she'd lived there and had a tarred wreath placed round her was burned at the stake as a Cathar heretic in a past life ! Arthur Guirdham's books cover this period very well.

Our reading covering the subject was fascinating, if somewhat gruesome at times but also a wonderful voyage of discovery.

Now she knows why she got a stiff neck, it hardly bothers her any longer!:)

What's the difference between emotional and mental conditions which have their cause in past lives and physical illness or condition of the current body having their cause in past lives?

The trauma of the experience has just manifested in a different way.

Dr. Ian Stevenson, a psychiatrist and biochemist spent 40 years investigating the possibility of reincarnation. A lot of his work concentrated on childhood memories of a past life and this was the subject of the book called 'Old Souls; The Scientific Evidence For Past Lives' by Tom Shroder who approached the subject as a skeptic.

Part of the book looked into the evidence that linked birthmarks with sites of injuries in a past life. I remember one story of a child recounting the story of a previous life as a shop keeper, and having a birthmark corresponding with where the child remembered being shot. He remembered his name, all his family's names and personal stories, and his old address. The child gained nothing materially from his claim and everything in his story was later found to be true.

One thing that impressed me with the book is that the memories were of ordinary lives, no Egyptian high priests or Napoleons. 🙂

P.S. Tom Shroder wasn't a skeptic after he'd written the book.

Although I have only ever had very positive and loving experiences of spirit and my psychic abilities I have always been terrified of it (but not anymore, I'm working on it!) then recently a psychic lady told me I had been persecuted for being psychic in a couple of my past lives and once I was buried alive as a witch which explains my fear of enclosed spaces.
I also remember a past life which was very ordinary so the same as Bannick this convinced me that past life stuff is very real.

Love

One thing Im going to do before I die is past-life regression

I am almost 100% convinced I was a pianist in a past life.
For one, I have the longest, thinnest fingers I've ever known anyone have. My dad always used to say "You should play the piano"
Well the thing is, Ive always wanted to. To this day if I hear piano music, or I see a piano its like somethings dragging me towards it. When we were at school and did music I woud stand at the keyboard for hours, I couldnt tell you a single note on it, yet I managed to work out chords, melodys and tunes all by myself.
When I lay my hands on it its like my fingers instinctivly know where they should be.

It is possible that people can just genuinly "be good" at something, but I tell you now, give me a sheet of piano music, I couldnt tell you anything about it...yet theres something that I recognise, like a word thats on the tip of my tounge.

I have been told my entire life by all sorts of people, "You should write." I've never had any desire to write. During one psychic reading, the psychic asked, "Are people always telling you to write?" I was taken aback and expected her to say, "You really should be writing." Instead she said, "It's because you were a well known writer in the past and have no desire to do that again. The lesson was learned." I have no idea who I was, other than possibly Charlotte Bronte -- I visited her family home and felt quite familiar and comfortable there -- or Lord Byron because he died on my birthday and I always had a bit of an obsession for him, even visiting Sintra, Portugal because I'd heard it was one of his favorite places. Of course, since I've had a lousy love life, perhaps it is karma for all the screwing around and breaking of hearts I did as Byron! Who knows?

I've regressed people with some interesting results. I regressed a boyfriend to a past life in Spain where he'd been locked in a house that was then set on fire and he burned to death. In the middle of that vision, he got up in a panic and was gasping and said he had to get out of there. I had to calm him down so I could safely remove him from that lifetime. Afterward, he told me he'd always had a fear of burning to death.

Past lives are interesting but we live in the Now. It's just another tool for eliminating a phobia, so not bad.

There was a book recently about a little boy who was obsessed with a type of WWII plane and it turned out he'd been shot down. Lots of documentation. I think his family even visited the family of that lifetime and they all got closure.

Then many years ago there was an American woman who had visions of a lifetime in Ireland and was able to trace her visions back to her children, now elderly, of that lifetime and they recognized her as their mum. Gives you chills!

Throat problems are also due to issues of self-worth and self-esteem. When I dowse the throat, often there are issues of self worth/esteem present.
