Does anyone know of a spirit circle within striking distance of SW London that I could join? I am just beginning to open to spirit (I know it's a bit late in the day, as I am over 50!). I have done a few beginners courses in psychic development, but I need to practise. Any suggestions of where to look would be gratefully received. Thanks.

I'm presuming you're meaning development circles or groups?

try [DLMURL] http://www.thepsychictimes.com/spiritualistschurches.htm [/DLMURL]

or Google 'spiritualist churches, UK' for alternative listings. I'd hazard a guess and say you won't find development groups other than attached to Spiritualist churches or centres etc.

Your age is inconsequential other than it might mean you have more of the necessary patience! I'm nearly 64 and am more patient than I was when younger....

Young uns don't necessarily make better practitioners than old uns. 😉

Thanks for the advice, Mac. To be honest, I don't really know where to go from here - it's too expensive to keep doing courses. I've heard psychics/mediums talk about "sitting in circle", I'm not 100% sure what it means, but assumed it was a mutual support group. I will check out your link. Thanks.

Sitting in a circle can enhance psychic awareness and helps identify anyone beginning to show mediumship. The group will be led by an experienced practitioner, often a medium.

It's not a mutual support group but the atmosphere in a good group/circle can be very mutually supportive. 🙂

OK, thanks. I looked at your link to Spiritualist churches, but didn't see anything about psychic circles.

You wouldn't.

Development classes, development groups, open or closed circles are never called 'psychic circles'. If a psychic circle -whatever that might be - is what you're truly seeking then I don't have a clue where you'd find one.

If, however, you're looking for the features I mentioned in my last posting then an SNU church is the place to look and to visit to see what it has to offer.

I'm not at all confident about what you're after......????

I guess I'm not 100% sure what I'm after, either, as I don't have any experience to go on. I guess I'm looking for a way of continuing my psychic/mediumistic development without having to keep on shelling out large sums of money - it would also be good to be able to get to know other people on the same journey. If what I need is a development class or group, I didn't see that mentioned on your link either. Perhaps the best thing would be to just go along to a spirtualist church and ask. Thanks for your advice anyway.

As I said in my earlier message, you probably wouldn't likely see anything about circles or development groups on the church information pages but as I also pointed out you'd need to visit any individual church to learn what is happening at any time. Open circles may run semi-continuously but closed ones can only be joined at the beginning. Churches have their own format - some big on development, others less so.

If, as you say, you're looking for a way to improve your awareness and maybe help develop mediumship skills a group of the sort described above sounds like the way to go.

good luck!
