If walking is one of the best exercises then circle walking is a good exercise for the average to poor health person, it has all the benefits of ordinary walking plus the turning of the body massages the muscles and organs inside the body. The method has been around for a long time but is not well known in the west, it is commonly known as Bagwa waliking in the east and is known for mental benefits as well. A simple example would be to walk around a circle about 6 foot in diameter, it can get bigger or smaller and you can also walk in a figure 8. You can do it without leaving where you live, the only rule is to look to the center of the circle in its most simplified version. Some people walk around a tree or plant in their back yard or around a round rug indoors. If you get tired put your hands on your hips or if you need more work hold vegi cans in your hands and reach out to the front, sides and rear.
does looking to the centre of the circle stop you getting dizzy?
It doesnt sound like a very big circle.
I hope I remember to try this in the spring..am thinking of going barefoot in the park as a practice, for at least a few minutes several times a week, but will wait until the snow has gone

Hi Tigress,
The 6 foot circle works good indoors and outdoors it can be any size, I have seen 20 people walking a ~ 20 foot circle. The looking to the center puts a spiral in your body, the spiral is found throughout nature so this brings you closer to nature. Dizzyness is probably reduced this way to, I never thought of it. Changing direction spirals the spine to and fro exercising the multifidis of the vertabrae and squeeze the body tissue increasing elimination.
I use a figure of eight walk or run in my daily practice. I also use affirmation and verse to build the energies within.
In ancient times most warrior tribal societies adopted some form of circle walking or fire dancing where inner fighting spirits were nurtured and built upon ready for the quests they ritually performed, or before a battle.
I know it's a good way of preparing yourself for the day ahead.
Walking is so much better for us than running or jogging. Whether it's in a straight line or in a circle, walking is a health winner.
