But I'm "only" 45, married with teens. I work part time in a busy Tea Room (16 hours a week) and am in good health generally, and my diet is not bad. Maybe I'm about 14-21 pounds overweight, but wouldn't say I was "fat!" I sleep ok-ish though rarely right through the night, I'm a very light sleeper, but this has never really been an issue.

But things I used to do without second thought, I find more difficult as my arms/legs/body just feel stiffer. I'm not in any pain, it's just that now I have to think about it before I do it....

Simple things like reaching round to put seat belt on in car, reaching down to paint my toe nails or do up shoe laces, I get out of puff just walking up the stairs, and when shopping I'll avoid walking up any stairs and go out of my way to avoid if I can.

I feel tired and lacking in energy.

I went on a 10 mile bike ride (all flat ground, very few hills) the other day so I'm not particularly "unfit" am I? Where years ago any exercise like that would have me bouncing about for the rest of the day, this knackered me:sleep:

What can I do/take to remedy that? Or is "this it" now because I'm getting on in years?

he he he now there is a thing!
If you feel old, you are gonna feel old! You are active compared to me. I don't move or exercise as an obligation to keep fit. Haven't done any formal exercise for about 4-5 years other than what wants to happen naturally, Don't worry too much about keeping fit. You are fit enough...you are cycling miles. just do one thing- when you do move move for the sheer joy of it. You will see that you are only coming into your youth...
We were on beach yesterday, We started walking then running, first I noticed I was quite clunky and children were miles ahead. Then I started running properly (straightened my back, stretched my chest, relaxed my arms...)and running became more graceful and faster. It took years off my running style. Move for the joy of it,bend for the joy of it when you do. Your body knows how to keep fit, if you don't have conflict about things in your mind.
Don't start the feeling old game, rest will take care of itself.
