Hello
Bacterial Vaginosis.... doesn't it sound lovely lol.
Well after getting several swabs done my GP prescribed Metronidazole for it and I really hate taking antibiotics (or any drugs for that matter) and does anyone know if there's any alternatives I could take?
Anyone ever been diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis and is there anything I should exclude etc from my diet?
Thanks so much for any help

My 22yr old daughter has been plagued with this over the last few years. She got the most benefit, after being prescribed an anti-biotic suppository - she just had to use two in 48 hours, and has not had an episode since. She hasn't had BV for 18 months or so, but did have break-through thrush quite regularly. Her GP recommended that she come off the Pill, so she did, and has not had thrush for about 6 months. She has a very varied diet - treats herself to complete junk/rubbish every Friday night, rarely drinks alcohol (unlike most of her friends) and exercises a lot.
Hi Jabba
That's great that your daughter hasn't had BV since and that the suppository worked for her. Might see if my GP will prescribe me them.
I've done abit of research into BV and have found that doucing in Cider Vinegar and taking natural yoghurt helps along with taking Garlic so might try that out - as for taking these anitbiotics there still in the box lol

Hi Angel Star,
The pessaries are marvellous, well worth trying. Like Jabba's daughter, eat natural yogurt too.
Be warned - cider vinegar douches are good, but they may interfere with the pessary medicine and kill the 'good' flora' inside you, so try them before you insert the pessary. Also, douchng with vinegar will sting like crazy!

BV and metronidazole
Agreed but there is also Tinidazole. It comes bk for me every year or every two years. Tinidazole usually clears it up straight away. I get them fro The Online Clinic. I just have to log in instead of renewing my prescription each time or having to see the doc face to face. they are docs and totally legit. Registered and accredited. Good luck!
