Hello everyone,
After 6 years of offering myself for remedial massage therapy I have to concede that the main issue which draws clients is whether or not I can help with common symptoms of the menopause. In those 6 years I had started to notice very definite positive outcomes but until last year had never encountered any convincing research results. These emerged from Korea last year and give the weight of statistics to my suspiscions as to the relevance of massage for menopausal pain, hot flushes and melancholia. Has anyone else, client or practitioner had similar experience?
Since I live in a scenically lovely part of the UK I have decided to test the market for this therapy, combining treatments over a number of days with holidays in tranquil west Wales.
It would be good to hear from you, in whatever capacity.
A massage in beijing is a great way to relieve stress in soft tissues and realign bones and organs in order to help patients unwind. Find out how to relieve stress with a massage in this free instructional website on massage techniques from a professional massage therapist.
Through every day living trauma, accidents, or just daily stress the soft tissue structures of our bodies become tight pulling bones and organs slightly out of alignment creating, knots, trigger points, and areas of pain and discomfort. These are things that we don't have to live with. Massage can benefit these things. Massage helps people unwind both physically and mentally providing a relaxing environment where they can put their worries aside and just focus on relaxing and unwinding from their day.
Hello John,
I am an ayurvedic consultant and specialise in menopause.
Are you asking whether massage is good for menopause?
I think it is good from a psychological point of view as women have to look after themselves in this new phase. Very often they are used to looking after everybody else in the family as care givers and forget themselves. However, the menopause is a reminder that they can't continue with the strength that they used to have and need to take more time out to balance themselves. This is really important!
In ayurveda, we treat a lot of problems with massage and use herbal oils for that. So I wouldn't recommend a warming oil (for example almond) for somebody who suffers from hot flushes but apart from that, its great!
Massages balance the doshas and during the menopause the doshas are fighting, In particular the vata and the pitta dosha as vata is striving for dominance over pitta. Massage means you are helping to calm the vata energy which is really important for health maintenance.
I would always recommend some massage treatment to the women I coach through the natural ayurvedic menopausealso online, which is to a great extend a self-healing journey. Most women are not understood by the GPs and are given hormone replacement therapy instead.
Hope this helps! Any more questions, don't hesitate.
Regards,
Sonja
