Why does our hair go white? I noticed my 2nd white hair today and I'm only 27......
RE: White Hair
As we get older, we lose pigment in our hair, which is what gives it the colour it is.
When we lose it is largely a matter of genetics. How old were your parents when they started to go grey/white?
There are many people who begin to see grey or white hairs in their twenties (I was one and so was my dad) and there isn't much we can do about it, other than think about colouring if you feel that way. But two hairs are nothing to worry about and it could be some time before this spreads.
You may find this interesting.

RE: White Hair
Hi Lesley
I think my mum started going white quite early so it may be that. My dad has some white hair but its very hard to notice but I think his were post 50 age.
The thing with me is that I have very fine hair and not a lot of it so i think it will become noticeable soon. I'm not keen on dyeing it so will probably use henna and give my self some highlights.....

I don't think it is just genetic... after all, someone can literally go white overnight with shock. I have also heard of people taking high vitamin and mineral doses and their hair pigmentation returning... but this is unsubstantiated at the moment.

RE: White Hair
loss of pigment is the one case, but i have noticed among many persons, who are having great stress they also get their hair grey in early age.
