Can someone please tell me in which layer of skin Keratin is found? I have looked in books and on the web but am getting confused. Many thanks

Hi,
Keratin is a protein that is made by the body. There are different types of keratin that are found in various sites of the body. Keratin makes hair, toe and fingernails and the top part of the skin, the epidermis which resists wear and tear. Abnormality of keratin can cause certain skin conditions.
