Anyone know how to make dead skin on face come off?

I've had this problem since I was 13 and it comes and goes. If I use an acne medication for to long my skin will dry up and look dead. the only thing I know to make it come off is makin it even more dry. Do anybody know how I can make dry skin come off my face or peel off my face in a instant?
