I was at the haridresser today, and there was an HND student from the local college doing mini-manicures for a fiver, so I decided to treat myself. However, while I was sitting under those lights that set your colour, I noticed her doing someone else with the same tools and she just shook out the towel she's used for me, and re-used it. Which made me realise she'd probably already used the tools and towels on someone else BEFORE me, as well. I was well horrified, but I mentioned it to someone else, and they seemed to think it would be common practice. Am I just a hygiene freak?? I don't want to phone the hairdresser to mention it if it's just me (although I def won't be having my nails done again if that's what happens. Yuck)
I would think something like that would be illegal since certain standards of hygiene are expected. I don't know your laws.
nooo thats unhygenic! should have used clean tools!! and fersh towel! It would put me off!!

metal utensils should be placed in a barbacide pot, some people use the same file, a fresh towel should have been used or couch paper placed over it.
thats just disgusting, fresh towels each time or couch roll to cover, barbacide for stainless steel utensils (its not even expensive!!) , on regular clients i put their file in a plastic wallet with their name on it, but use new for new clients each time. i wouldnt go back and i would make a comment, perhaps the salon owner doesnt know what is going on.
That is not nice at all.
