For the last 2 days, I keep having these little "heart flutters" where I feel a sudden weakness and dizzyness but only for about 2 - 4 seconds at a time, then all is fine again.
I'm a male of 25 - is this normal? I take omega 3,6 and 9 and a multivit some days a week, drink enough water and eat really healthy.
They seem to have stopped for the moment.
Is this normal to have these now and again?
Oh - and I did have an upset stomach this morning - so perhaps that might have something to do with it?
Hi Sunray,
We've had a few people at work go off sick over the past couple of weeks with dizzy spells but I think they were accompanied by headaches too. There seems to be a few different 'bugs' going about at the moment. 3 others are complaining of nausea too and they're not people who usually feel ill.
I would go to your gp to get checked out, always better to be safe! They may do an ecg (electrical tracing of your heart) just to check everything is OK.

I'd agree with this if you find them happening again. Sometimes palpitations are simply the result of stress or drinking to much tea/coffee/coke anything with caffeine in.
But do have achat with your GP if you are worried.

Hi Sunray
I have been having these for years off and on, but very occasionally they become alarming and last for a few hours. I am in the middle of being investigated (again) but the last time I went to be checked out, about 7 years ago, nothing abnormal was found.
I do take beta blockers to slow my heart rate down and make it more regular - but I have to say I am not convinced they have much effect.
I would not worry overly much, but it is a good idea just to get checked out in case. Whatever you do, don't google this condition - the websites that came up convinced me I was about to die!
