Hi folks
ive recently been going to the gym...(i normally run outdoors)...ok in the gym,,,i start working out on the rowing machine...for the first 5 mins im fine then after that my chest, back, arms stomach start to itch,,,this gets worse as i start itching....its not just a little itch,,i cant stand it and have to stop using the machine....im starting to think its not worth me going the gym as i start getting paranoid if people notice im itching....

its kinda weird...as soon as i do start to sweat the itching goes away....so its at the point where my body is trying to get the sweat out..but it dont! it just makes me itch instead..........help, this is really getting me down 🙁

is there any help for me?

regards
Nifty

It sounds like it could be prickly heat, (milaria / heat rash), chamomile and burdock tinctures or teas can help. Avoid spicy foods and spices. Maybe take a Vit C supplement. Don't drink hot drinks before exercise.
Maybe try showering before exercise to ensure nothing is clogging the skin and stopping you from sweating

Agree with Herbal-D. It's not nice to cope with, I know from past experience.

I have heard saunas are helpful too. Need to have them regularly to retrain your pores to open when you sweat. If you have been training outside they maybe have not been responding so well because of the cold air. A hot shower before exercising could help too, to open the pores.

All the best

Caroline
