I have actually quit for good this time, i will definetly do it.
I have tried to quit before, but to be honest i never actually fully wanted to.
But this time, i have the willpower and i actually want to do it.
For these reasons, saving money, better health etc.
I'm finding it hard, but also alot easier than the last times i tried to quit.
I actually want to do it this time, its been 3 days without a ciggarette.
I'm using patches and gum and its really helping.
I'm not missing it, i just have withdrawal symptoms. Feel like i'm missing something in my hand.
It's good, but its kinda weird too.

Wish me luck, i'll keep you updated and such.

Fran x

Well done
I gave up on Christmas eve just gone and know exactly what you mean about feeling your missing something. The problem I now have is that I am eating for England so that will have to be the next thing i address my weight. But upon saying that I feel so much better and healthier.
But well done to you and keep it up you will be feeling so much healthier very very soon

Good Luck and best wishes Kathryn xx

Well done Fran, don't forget to try to put the money aside you spent on fags to treat yourself and if you miss something to do with your hands could you not take up something like knitting or buy a Rubiks cube? (or is that me showing my age?lol)

Thanks for the support guys.
It means alot, it always does.
I feel a little better today, not craving a ciggarette that much.
Was really bad in the pub last night, but i beat it.
Its been four days now, probably seems like nothing to you.
But thats really good for me, normally it takes me like an hour or so before i'm back on them.
But i'm determined this time.
I will do it...for sure.

Thanks x
I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Well done you sound really determined and I think it's really cool that you managed the pub!

I agree put some money away and treat yourself, I opened an on line savings do dah and transfered what I would have spent on cigarettes to it twice a week so I could see the money build up - that really helped me!

Also I tried not to say I was 'giving up' that made me feel like I was missing out on something so I just said I had stopped, it sort of made me look at it in a different way.

Best of Luck!

Oh well done, Fran. One day at a time, indeed one minute at a time. You have every right to be proud of yourself - it's horribly difficult to give up but one day you'll look back and realise that cigarettes just no longer figure in your life. And you'll also realise how smokers smell - and you won't smell like that any more. (I'm sorry, smokers - and I used to be one - but I can always tell when a smoker enters the room or gets on the bus, or whatever.)

Sometimes day by day is too much to handle, thats when hour by hour works! Thats certainly what I did when I first gave up.

Erm, bad news guys.
I had a serious slip up...!
I started smoking again =S

But i'm starting over, i only smoked for like a couple of days but this
time i'm going to do it.
I joined the together programme with the NHS and they are
going to help me through it step by step.
I also have more aids to do it with this time, such as nasal spray,
inhalator, patches and gum. =]

So wish me luck, again.
Sorry i let you all down, i feel terrible =[

Don't feel bad about it...good on you for not letting a slip up get you back on the dirty sticks full time. I know how hard it is to give up. You've done really well, give yourself a pat on the back & the next time round you'll be even more determind:hug:

Thanks guys, i'm not giving up.
No way!
I've just decided that i'm not going to buy any, which i haven't
done for a while. But i'm just having one or two a day or even
half just to get rid of the craving.
I know i will quit soon completly, i've joined the together
programme with the NHS go smoke free thingy, they
are writing to me and helping me to quit...etc.
Also when i get paid, in 9 days i'm going to buy some
stuff from boots etc to help me. NRT..etc.
Erm i'm getting patches, gum, nasal spray and an inhaltor.
I am determind, i'm going to beat this.
Thanks for all your support, =]

You've really helped, having someone to talk to and all that.
Thank you to you all, i really appreciate it!
