There are some dentists that would dispute the theory that fluoride prevents dental caries and is beneficial to dental health. More important to dental health is diet, dental hygiene and genetics.

I haven't met such dentists but there must be some. Tell you what - I have a check-up coming up with a really nice guy: I'll ask him his opinion and report back on the response I get (after this week).

I seem to remember that fluoride is in the tap water of most UK areas?

Here is a map of UK fluoride levels
[DLMURL="http://www.bfsweb.org/One%20in%20a%20million/7%20extent.pdf"]And here is a report and map[/DLMURL] showing where it has been added artificially.

Luckily we are not too bad for this here in the UK, since about the mid 1980s.

As for un-fluoridated toothpaste, they sell Aloe-Dent and Weleda at Waitrose.

My dentist laid it on thick with the fluoride message, with assersions about the effect on teeth. I replied that as an osteopath I have to consider the effect on the whole body. In fact my teeth were in relatively good shape, more than I deserved due to my diet back then - avoiding fluoride does not seem to have caused a problem.

Some foods contain natural fluoride and nearly all toothpastes contain fluoride, but they put it in the mains water in case some people aren't getting enough???

So why not put artificial vitamins or zinc or iron in the mains water in case some people aren't getting enough of these through their food???

Quite - but is anyone beginning to notice a pattern?:011:

Yes, without a shadow of doubt. 😀

Some people call the adding of fluoride to water an attempt at compliancy, others use the term 'dumbing down'. It goes on more in the US, but certainly goes on here too.

THanks for posting that info. I was especially interested by the (presumably government-produced?) document on the extent of artificial flouridation, with regard to its typically manipulative use of language, as in "currently about 6 million people benefit from flouridation". Note how the biased words "benefit from" are substituted for the unbiased alternative of "recieve". This subtle use of language is very familiar to me due to my knowledge of hypnosis. It is an "indirect suggestion", slipped in under the door, direct to the subconscious mind by-passing the conscious, which might raise objections. The Nazis were very good at this.

I have read in Nexus magazine articles that after WW2, the Soviet Union was being supplied with essential chemicals from the USA (this was before the Cold War properly got going), and they requested a large amount of flouride. When an American official queried this, they said they needed it for the prison camps to keep the inmates docile.

Apparently the concept of adding flouride to the water supply actually began with the nuclear industry in America, who needed a way to get rid of this highly toxic chemical which is a by-product of nuclear fuel manufacture. In an astonishing triumph of bare-faced cheek, they convinced the govt to dispose of this toxic chemical by chucking it in peoples' drinking water!

I must admit that I used to think people who objected to flouride were cranks. It just goes to show that there is such a barrage of lies continuously directed at us, that EVERYTHING must be questioned.

What about water filters? The kind you can attach to your kitchen tap? Do those remove the fluoride?

It has been awhile since I've seen a dentist but years ago my regular dentist used to give me so-called fluoride treatments that would literally burn my gums and make them so tender I could not eat or even drink water. Naturally I had to request that he stop giving me those as I know I did not need them, plus the fluoride started to discolor my teeth.

I still use regular baking soda on my teeth which is better, no chemicals, all natural and has lightened my teeth a little bit but since my early 20's I'll never have the pearly white teeth I used to have. 🙁

So far as I know, 'simple' water filters, the kind that are like jugs, are just not good enough to eradicate fluoride at all. It's a subtle chemical. But the kind you refer to do do the job. I suppose that impressive kind of filters, which I once had, which take your tap water and boil it into a condensation ... they do only leave you with pure H2O, which is the whole point of them. But when I had one it was quite clumsy to have and use. It was boiling away all day and often you needed to see to its problems.

I've lived in places, communities, where it was affordable to have water-boiling filters which were not clumsy i.e. you didn't literally have to stick a pipe on the end of your kitchen tap. But yes, they get rid of fluoride, at least so far as I'm told. The opposition to such filters is that some then say that they 'bleach' you of essential minerals found in water as you are only getting pure H2O. I consider that nonesense. Whatever minerals we need is surely within food on a decent diet.

Thanks for posting that. Many people will probably think you are paranoid, but in fact you've hit the nail right on the head. The language is right out of George Orwell. Unfortunately I also know personally of a number of children who, of course, get this common type of toothepaste. It isn't in my remit to stop it. People just tend to get by, but it's hardly a healthy way to do it.

Many years ago I read about children dying or getting very ill from toothpaste (as most have this chemical in them and it is sold cheaply), because as kids they tend to swallow some. That's basically just swallowing poison which is used to kill rats, for example.

Fluoride is added to most English regions' water. Especially the Midlands and North East. I wonder why.

now here is a very interesting link to all the governments and scientists in the world who have opposed it, and why..

fluorinated water is thought to lessen IQ, cause bowel disease, arthritis, cancer, Alzeihmer..

http://fluoridationqueensland.com/blog/2010/05/15/the-water-fluoridation-question/

now what strikes me is how can the water supplier of a country be privatized? how scary to think it not a public area.

Myarka, England's water supply system is privatized. I think that says enough in itself.

Much as I am left wing in my politics and am not happy with private ownership of utility companies, I still believe we need to deal with facts.
