There is a scientific theory that says, when we discover time travel we will only be able to travel back in time to the point that we discovered time travel, because to travel in such a way would require some method of sending and some method of receiving, hence prior to the discovery there would be no receiver.

Although time travel is cool, it seems scary when it falls to the wrong hands.

i wonder what the knowledge would be used for, what would it change we are all part of events change one thing from the past and you change the future

WOW A time machine, now wouldn't that be just great.....so what would you do if you could go back in time?

I've had this discussion with my hubby many times and he said he would honestly go back to the time of when his parents were younger and beat the crap out of his step-dad.....just to give him a taste of what it would be like to be bullied. (Hubby's dad used to beat him an awful lot when he was
child).

I think I would go back and bye lots of houses. My hubby's grandparents house is still in the family and it was brought in the 1950's for £800........imagine how much you would pay for it now.

Hi all,

I read this thread at work but didn't have chance to reply. It's now late, so this'll be brief:

I feel instinctively that time travel as in typical s.f. is just impossible and cannot rationally happen. However, the latest physics does suggest that maybe particles can travel in time. I recall reading somewhere that this has already been tried? But a particle is far different to putting them together to make up, say, a human body. I don't think it can be done. We've all seen "The Fly" ! 😮

If I may mention esotericism, in the esoteric world, and I've partaken of this, "time travel" is possible in the sense of going back (not forward) in time to view in all clarity the 'akashic records' of anything that ever happened in the past, anywhere. But there's not a two-way interraction. You can't change it, and you don't effect it. It's just like the Universe having a perfectly detailed memory of the past which you can tap into, from any place or time.

What is interesting is that this does impact, from the past, upon the present, since people see what happened in the past and adjust their present life-decisions accordingly. You not only see and hear any past event, but can also feel the emotions involved.

So that's "reading the akashic record", and my fave book on this is by Levi, who believes he viewed, in the 1800s, the true and whole life of Jesus, and wrote his "Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ" as a result.

V

Perhaps when people from the future visit the past, they appear "invisable".

This could explain many ghost and UFO sightings, and "spirits" being picked up on camera lens

Referring to Venetian post. Yes I agree at this stage of the earths evolution. Its not possible to travel to the future as it has not happened. So how can you jump forward in time to something which has not been created. Remember the film THE LONGOLIARS They travel forward in time to nothing, then the time catched up with them. Another thing to remember is 18th 19th century the human race said it was "IMPOSSIBLE" to travel faster than the speed of sound. 150 years later we travel x4 the speed of sound.

Yes it can be true because scientific community believes that there are lot of dimensions around us, our 5 senses are tuned to a particular dimension, just like a radio tuned to bbc world and we dont have options to tune to other stations, so it is a possibility 🙂

Unfortunately, dimensions are just models created to suit the need; there is no set list of dimensions.

Some scientists need only use 3 dimensions to describe the appearance of something, whilst others will use 4 if they need to incorporate changes in appearance over time. Then we have things such as Ouspensky's 6 dimensions or String Theory's 11 dimensions etc.

No one has yet standardized a suitable dimensional model to fit all things scientific so, as with science, spritual dimensions are likewise theoretical.

I guess, in summary, anything is possible.

Great for the greedy. Buy lots and lots of Microsoft shares in 1985 (or so). Remember to get rid of them in 2001. 😀

I think most scientific breakthroughs are like this...computers, stem cell, cloning, nuclear weapons, etc. Anything that is really good can be really destructive in the wrong hands
