Hi Guys,
I'm hoping you can tell me how detailed I need to study Anatomy and Physiology to have a solid understanding of the body for Sports Therapy.
I'm planning to study Sports Therapy with Active Health Group in June. In my anticipation and excitement for starting the course, I've purchased the book "Trail Guide To The Body", and its accompanying "Student Workbook". I think its a great book, and very comprehensive, but before I overload my brain and start to become frustrated, I wanted to ask you guys how much of this stuff do I actually need to learn? For example, I'm sure locating and understanding the Scapula is of great importance. However, how necessary is it to know the angles, borders and cavities of the Scapula? Will I be required to learn this kind of stuff for the course?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to cut corners, I just don't want to spend time with my head in this book learning stuff that I don't need when I could be learning by palpating areas of the body I need to become best friends with.
Thanks,
Mark
you would be expecte to be able to palpate the major muscle origins and insertions, demonstrate actions for the first mid course assessment, know deeper muscle for 2nd assessment and smaller muscles and bones for final assessment
