RE: Simplicity
1. are you in fact reiki attunned or do any kind of healing?
2. who told you this stuff re. universal energy ?...your master?
3. have you practiced any chi kung/tai chi ?
4. have you studied any of the teachings of jesus/read any bible ?
1. I am a Reiki teacher and practitioner so yes I am attuned and self-heal every day.
2. Some of it my master told me, all of it I know through intuition / God.
3. Yes I have practised Tai Chi and Qi Gong. The exercises build up your own internal life force energy which is then depleted when giving healing and the cycle goes on. If that type of healeris enlightened enough they could use universal energy to heal.
4. I have studied the teachings of Jesus from the Nag Hammadi manuscripts. The Bible is not relevant to me. Much of what was written about Jesus was written many years later by people who had never met him. The Gospels were not written by the actual disciples.
have read little of it myself but i do know jesus said 'everything i can do you can do and more'.....i dont consider myself christian BTW but recognise him as a powerful shaman/healer....no offense intended towards christians....
Everyone has the potential to heal but the potential is not enough on it's own. Some healers may be able to heal using spiritual high frequency energy if they are enlightened enough, everyone can heal using their own energybut Reiki is the only means of accessing all the frequencies needed for physical, emotional and spiritual conditions. People have the potential to be as spiritually elevated as Jesus and do as he did but they don't use it, they choose a different path. Can doesn't mean that people will or do do it. Like I said, intention is not enough it has to be followed by good actions. Doing the wrong thing with the best of intentions is at the least pointless and the worst dangerous. Someone could have the good intention of re-setting someone's broken leg but if they aren't medically trained and don't know what they are doing they will do the person more harm than good.
RE: Simplicity
I have known people who were naturally gifted hands on healers before reiki established itself in this country.
The point is, there were people healing in this way long before reiki became well known in the UK.

absolutly......makes you wonder how on earth we ever managed b4 someone came along with reiki dont it...lol
RE: Simplicity
kashikoi, i have yet to see a reiki healer[or any healer] heal others constantly without the need for a rest....myself included,
if they were channelling entirely pure limitless universal energy then they should be able to go on non stop forever......perhaps an actually useful challange for david blane:D....and i would think even jesus stopped for a tea break:D
so this for me the reiki myth 'we dont use/heal with our own energy' falls down.....the theory might be sound but in practice...nope..
ive given a rather extreme senario but it serves my point that their is always some element of the own healers energy involved, exactly how much to me would indicate how much karma [or resolution thereof] is to be involved...
not heard of those manuscripts you mention....sounds interesting...and i agree with your bible comments.
RE: Simplicity
Hi Kashikoi Why do you perceive your energy/spiritual being side to be different and less pure than all the other energy/spiritual beings out there? to my understanding it is all one, we are simply just pure energy beings exploring the physical realm.
Well actually we are each individual and unique, and each single person will be holding their own blockages within their energy system and this will and does impact on the healing process. The clearer your energy system the clearer the road for the car to get through.
Some peoples energy systems are like stand still traffic jam and others an empty motorway that can take a high speed car.
Hence, the historical saying 'healer heal thyself' and why Dr Usui was pragmatic about Reiki being for one's own development and healing others the by-product of ones own healing progress.
Dear Flit
Welcome to the Reiki forum. I am always surprised why people who do not choose to train or use Reiki choose to come to a Reiki forum to discuss the fact they do not use the Reiki. In integrity, one wonders at the motivation behind the intent. Often people think we are innocent of what they may say.
hmmm.....bemused at why one would express one's energy in such a way....when surely it could be put to better use elsewhere?

RE: Simplicity
My experiences of healing have been that there are many infinite sources of healing, and I dont agree that Reiki is the only one, and all others use their intention or 'own' energy. I have experienced some wonderful healing from people that use different modalities as the vehicle for healing: Shiatsu, acupuncture, osteopathy, and plain old fashioned touch. I have been touched on all levels of my being by these treatments. I have received healing from simply being with someone, just a friend, a human being who simply bears witness to me. Have you ever spent a few minutes or hours with someone, or been on the receiving end of a warm smile from a stranger? Even that is a form of healing.........
Sometimes simplicity does it all. Some of my best healing treatments have been in the moments when I thought "I just don't know".
I don't believe you have to be a Reiki healer or enlightened to be qualified to heal. Whatever 'enlightened' is. And at the same time I do think the more refined your system is the clearer the healing: (E.g. the less baggage we carry around, the more we have taken care of our own challenges, and health etc).
My understanding of Reiki is that it is simply a frequency of energy that we are 'tuned into', much like tuning into a radio station, only once attuned, we are always available to it. And if you used the metaphor of Reiki being water, we are each a unique flavoured cordial, which may explain why our experiences of receiving from different people tastes different to us. So whilst I might receive a Reiki treatment from Joe Smith for example, I also have it in Joe's flavour. Joe's flavour is made out all the ingredients of Joe, for example, his abilities and training, his life history, his ability (or not) to allow whatever is to flow through him, his ability not to make my system open up or fix what his ego thinks is wrong. I may be particularly drawn to one person, where someone else may not, not perhaps because of the Reiki, but because of the compatability between us. A bit like what attracts us to partners or friends.
I have also given healing in the years before I was attuned, when Reiki wasn't around, and I rarely felt drained. Sometimes in the early days, but this was more through lack of skills and experience than using my own energy. The more filled up/nourished we are, the more we can give maybe?
Intention can be a powerful force too. As the saying goes....."Where intention goes, energy flows...." It can be engaged with integrity, and we use it all the time in our daily lives.
And that is a bizarre thought too, that some might think that our energy is contained within us, and we disconnect or connect it. Maybe I have got it completely wrong, but my sense of energy is that we are all connected all of the time, whether we feel it or not. My energy is part of me, in my cells and tissues, around me and comes from the source, just like everyone elses does. I can affect my energy by my thoughts and intentions, by my opening or closing to my awareness to myself or others. But I cannot disconnect my energy.
I have also heard it said that when you end a healing session, you stop the Reiki flowing. I am not sure that it works like that, I wonder if we just close our awareness to it.
The way I was taught, was to open myself up to be fully available to the receiver and to Reiki, then get out of the way and let it be. I can use my intuition to hold the places, or follow the system, but otherwise it is simply a wonderful sharing.
This morning when I was giving a treatment I had a wopping headache. Half way through it was gone, how wonderful is that!!!! Drained I was most definitely not.
I know I can say all this, and its opposite can also be true, which tells me that there is no one way, no right way, just one more point of view. This is just mine.
I also really thi

RE: Simplicity
I would like to try to share some words about self healing.
I share these words from my heart.
When I started self healing it wasn't with the aim of being a healer.
It was with the aim of healing myself.
Self healing; when I first placed hands, I didn't know what to expect.
But I thought; well they are my hands and I can always stop this at any time if I don't like it.
And I didn't know what might happen.
What happened was that it felt like I could breathe properly.
Breathing. That is pretty basic isn't it?
It felt like I could breathe deeply here for the very first time.
And I was like "Wot?
Before I tried it, I thought that self healing would be a bit like a luxury.
A bit like a treat, like it would be something extra to enjoy like sitting down
with a cup of delicious hot chocolate or something,
But it wasn't quite like that.
It felt like a vital necessity
..
And breathing is, isn't it?
We need to breathe oxygen to live here.
And that is how I feel about self healing
.
It helps me to live here.
It feels like I can breathe in love.
And for me this is what self healing is; receiving love into our being.
It is a bit like an invitation; can I have some love please?
So, one way that I might self heal is when sitting down,
perhaps when reading or watching tv or chatting with a friend.
I just place hands comfortably on my lap and ask for healing,
And then let the healing be got on with.
All I am doing is providing the opportunity.
And each time I self heal I follow my intuition
As where to place my hands.
Cos when I sit down to watch tv I don't think about my breathing.
I just do it; I breathe!
I don't need to think about how to do it
Or what comes next
It just happens naturally;
For me;self healing is a bit likebreathing!
And all of us have our own way of breathing, don't we?

You haven't met me then Wolfen (obviously). My partner and I performed 8 hours worth of back to back treatments and felt more energised at the end of the session than to start with.
The people who feel tired when giving reiki are not using reiki correctly or have not been taught correctly. When treating with reiki, it demands 100% of your attention and focus in order to effectively treat the condition and not use your own energy.
No offence to other practioners as they may not have had correct teaching, but some people teach reiki by saying 'the energy is intelligent and goes where it wants so all you have to do is put your hands on and voila'. This is wrong. These same people also say that just by thinking of giving reiki is enough to use it. Again this is wrong as it uses your own energy in this way.
Reiki should be more respected and taught properly for people to truly understand how to use it correctly with best results.
Please don't assume that I think I know it all because I don't. But I do know that the way I have been taught reiki is very very effective and disciplined as compared to people I know who have learnt it another way. Even other practitioners who I have treated have commented on the vast difference between the treatments they have had.
I like the results I get with reiki and feel great for doing it so I advocate reiki for all. As long as it is taught correctly.
There are obviously many forms of healing that have a similar basis and when all are used correctly will have amazing results.
I think, for the good of all, we should spend less time arguing about what is best and why and simply heal as much as we can, for ourselves and for others. We all waste so much time arguing that cumulatively, we could have healed many people.
Discuss techniques and learn from each other, by speaking of what happens etc but lets not descend into a slanging match. I have been guilty of doing so before now but not any more.
