I thought this would be of interest to people, also if any of you know someone who may be worth interviewing you are inivited to suggest them to Bronwen and Frans. Why didn't I think of doing this with my clients when I had a web-site! It's such a good idea!

Hi RMc,
Looks interesting. For those who don't know, Bronwen and Frans Stein are the authors of The Reiki Sourcebook, a great resource for all Reiki practitioners (be warned, if you don't want to see the reiki symbols until you've done the appropriate levels, then you may want to avoid this book for the time being, but that's your own choice. ;))
Now I'll just have to get broadband so I can download the podcasts.... 😀

I just listened to another good interview on the podcast with the business manager of the UK Reiki Federation, she had a lot of interesting things to say.

I've already downloaded some of their podcasts. I love listening to radio so it is a great way of listening to a show concerning something I am really interested in. Great for keeping you company whilst mowing the lawn or hanging up the washing!

Yep, Marie talks about RRWG walking us into a federal council.........hope you all realise and understand the powers of federal councils if not I suggest you do some research.
E.g. the General Medical Council is a federal council. This is a council that can withhold a doctors license to practise etc etc. Federal councils are also very expensive to join every year but without being an approved registered member one cannot practise.

The interview with Doreen Sawyer of the UK Reiki Federation also has some information on the RRWG and where Reiki is headed, makes for interesting listening with everything going on at the moment! They also have Angie Buxton King (the NHS Healer) which again is an interesting one with the changes that are going on. 😉

Giles- unless I've been missing something I don't believe they include the actual symbols in any of their books? If I remember correctly they use acronyms i.e. HSK CKR etc...

I also never saw a symbol in the book.
I listened to the Phyllis Lei Furomoto interview yesterday and loved it, was really nice to hear about her thoughts and feelings about her grandmother (Hawayo Takata). She also mentioned that Hawayo Takata wouldnt have added things to Reiki such as the chakras etc which was an interesting part of the conversation for me as I was very much taken to Frans and Bronwen Stienes book The Japanese Art of Reiki for the very reason that it strips away all the additions and leaves you with just the energy, Reiki.
