I would just like to try to share a little.
I am neither a reiki healer nor a spiritual healer either.
I am just me and can now, as a result of self healing, allow healing for others.
It is the healing energy of unconditional love.
It may seem a bit like nit picking, but I don't think that we actually need to go on a humanly created system to learn how to self heal.
I don't know any symbols or where any of the chakras are and I do not know any set moves or hand positions.
I do not post here to change or challenge any other's viewpoint;
I am posting to try to share the possibility of simplicity.
It is simple is this;
Just the placing of hands on yourself
And then asking for healing.

Thank you for sharing Flit. I am also a great believer in keeping it simple whatever we do!

Flit, I just want to say how much I enjoy the simplicity and clarity and sheer poetry of your posts.
I look out for them. There is always truth there.

RE: Simplicity
You will be using your own energy to heal with. This energy is not as pure as universal energy andusing your own energy to heal with will deplete your own reserves.Reiki connects you to universal energy to heal and allows you to heal on all levels. Anyone can heal using their own energy.
RE: Simplicity
Hi Kashikoi
Why do you perceive your energy/spiritual being side to be different and less purethan all the other energy/spiritual beings out there? to my understanding it is all one, we are simply just pure energy beings exploring the physical realm.
RE: Simplicity
Hello Kashikoi
You bring up a most important point.
Thank you.
It is my current understanding that it is vital that I do not use my personal energy when healing.
And I do request that my personal energy should not be used.
Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to say this.
I would like to say a little more about; asking for healing.
Now the question is; who or what am I asking?
I know that I am not asking me.
I ask Spirit to give healing.
And I am simply providing that opportunity.
I place my hands instinctively where I feel they should be.
The way that this is possible,is through self healing.
RE: Simplicity
hey flit thats what I try and do only imagining that the pain is black and the healing is white and pull out the noodles of bad and then create energy with my hand and put it on where ever hurts it works for a while and doesn't take hardly any energy either.... although your idea sounds much easier than mine and also I'm not sure wether my energy is mine.... I know it doesn't come from me thats why I'm never too tired after using the healing but I'm never really sure about things like that... I probably should be [&:]
blessed be

i for one would be very interested to hear exactly what energy you believe you/we are composed of if it is'nt pure universal energy:D
and one certainly dos'nt need to do a reiki course to channel it....reiki is just one of many ways and some dont need any as they do it naturally....in fact i beleive we all do we just live in a society that believes you have to pay to achieve something when in fact all thats required is pure intent....notice i say pure as not everyone can achieve that without alot of effort, and most equate effort with money but thats just a modern corruption.

Hi wolfen
If you think of the process involved in healing then intention is only the trigger, intention itself cannot heal it is simply a thought process that engages our higher consciousness.
It isthe combinedconsciousness of the healer and the healee that join andco-create the energy healing on an energy level, once we sense the healing is complete we use our intention to disconnect our consciousnesses and stop, the healing process will continue until it is manifested into the physical with can take a few days or weeks or it is stopped by the healee and it is only partially manifested into the physical.
Our intentions might not always be pure as our thoughts are often distracted but our higher self consciousness which we perform energy work with is always pure spirit 🙂
RE: Simplicity
Being able to heal without being opened up to Reiki etc is great - I'm sure everyone has the ability to do that to a certain extent. I just know that the energy/sensations/results before & after being attuned to Reiki are very different. Before, I would *think* I could feel energy flowing but I wasn't sure & it was always a bit vague...After, I knew I could definately feel the energy flowing as it felt 10 times stronger & there was no doubt about it working or not.

from pure intent that which you have outlined here should flow.....so in this respect i am in agreement...,
and i will use the nazarene here as an example....allthough it looks very likely he had significant medicine training in the far east and argueably masses of natural ability i dought very much he ever paid for a reiki course;)

You can't use Jesus as an example!!! He was the Son of God. He could do whatever he wanted to do. You cannot compare human's abilities to the Son of God. No one was or is closer to God than Jesus and so cannot be compared in terms of their spiritual abilities or otherwise.
We are composed of Universal or God's energy in varying frequencies. Although we are all part of God we have different frequenices depending on how enlightened we are. Just because we are part of God it does mean that we can automatically channel that energy, our frequency has to be high enough. That is the point of the Reiki attunements to raise the individual's frequency high enough that they may connect with the Universal Energy.
Pure intent is never enough. The world is full of people with good intentions and bad actions. If people rely purely on intent they will never achieve their full potential.
RE: Simplicity
Wolfen - do you have a problem with people paying to learn reiki? I understand that some people do put money before reiki, however, this is what they are meant to do.
Personally I would teach reiki for free and live a life free from money but until I am fully self sufficient without money (and other pointless possessions) I will have to charge to get to this stage.
I do believe that everything should be given freely and not reliant on money though.
As for other ways of healing I can say in retrospect that I have healed before using intention alone (although I didn't realise this until learning reiki). I was about 13/14 and healed a pulled neck muscle. I cannot recall if I used my own energy or felt drained after but my dad was suprised that it had healed.
As for reiki, I always have more energy after treating someone than when I began. I did a full day of free treatments (8 and a half hours) and was positively filled with energy afterwards. Compared to when I did 7 hours a day at work in front of a computer, it was amazing.
So in short, I would say that reiki has it all in its own right, in terms of the energy used and not depleting your own energy.
As for other systems, I cannot say but I suspect that people healing in other ways (including some who have learnt reiki incorrectly) are using their own energy and get very drained. I have taught and listened to many people who say they feel tired after giving a treatment and when I have taught them the correct technique for channeling reiki, they have not felt this way.
Some people may not notice the lack of energy, some do.
If it works for you though and you get good results and are not drained of energy, go for it.
RE: Simplicity
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread.
I am so enjoying reading all your replies. And I find it all so totally fascinating.
When I place hands on another I am careful that I do not try to take control of the healing.
I ask for healing and then I let Spirit get on with it.
I provide the opportunity; really I am an allower.
Its a bit like a relationship and I had to learn to trust the process.
I place hands, ask for healing and allow the movement of Spirit to flow and I work intuitively.
This process for me, didnt happen overnight.
Me
I needed to know for myself that it all works.
I needed to know this inside out.
And it isnt about what I may need to know outside of myself.
It is about the discovery of me.
It is about the discovery of a relationship with Spirit.
And I feel that it is self healing which is the key.
And I would just like to add about when allowing healing for others;
Well, it feels like I am being healed too!

somewhat staggered by your responses here and as your profile is blank i have some questions...
1. are you in fact reiki attunned or do any kind of healing?
2. who told you this stuff re. universal energy ?...your master?
3. have you practiced any chi kung/tai chi ?
4. have you studied any of the teachings of jesus/read any bible ?
have read little of it myself but i do know jesus said 'everything i can do you can do and more'.....i dont consider myself christian BTW but recognise him as a powerful shaman/healer....no offense intended towards christians....
to me he is the perfect example of healing simplicity.
