My experience with Reiki is fairly new. I have always had an acute awareness of my spirituality. Since my exposure Reiki I am now able to see energy and this is completely new to me. The energy that I see looks like orbs. Some are long whispy dark strands, some are orbs that form into lines and flow downward, others take on shapes like for example the trinity symbol. Some literally stare back at me. Now when I shut my eyes at certain times I see strands of rainbows instead of darkness. These orbs also float around in groups. I also feel pulses, tingles of energy throughout my body at any given time. In the middle of a lecture or at work helping a customer.
My question is has anyone have a similar experience?
Should I be worried about the negative strands of ghost like energy that I see?
And how can I control/manipulate the energy that I see? Besides using affirmations. And have a clear understanding why I see symbols like the trinity?

Seeing, feeling, perceiving energy is more commonthan we think. Most of us can perceive energyy in myriad ways. Pulses, tingles, shivers, feels, darting visions are how some feel the flow of energy...some don't feel anything.
Seeing energyy is phenomema. It can become enhanced after a brush with some energetic opening, Reiki in your case. It is normal and quite alright. Allow it. Don't attach any ,meanings to it. It is passing parade. Let it pass.
Dark and light is all here. Seeing dark energy does not mean it is bad, seeing light does not mean it is good. That is just mind interpretting things.
Different strands, frequencies, vibrations, colurs, feels are contained in energy. No more to it. You are able to perceive some of them. Pretty much like seeing all colours of light through a shower of water...in the form of a rainbow. Yet we don't make big deal of it...rather get excited and be filled with its beauty in a child-like manner. Don't we? Same reaction with other parts of energy.... The constituents have become visible. It is best not to make a big thing of it. Rainbow comes rainbow goes. There is no way to contain it. Enjoy and then it goes
To the question "Why do I see the symbol of trinity"...Reiki deals with symbols...so more symbols are in arising inyour consciousness. Allow threm and stay aloof. Don't revel at the trinity symbol...then there is no need to fear ghost-like energy either. Just a show of energy.
Why do you want to manipulate the flow of energy. Mind is just interested in ownership and dictating its will. Shakti/energy is not owned. One can only allow it. It knows what it is doing. Allowing energy is the best thing to learn when dealing with energy.
Manipulation of any kind causes un rest in the long run. Existence does not need manipulation. Surrender is its only mantra.

Since you put it that way there is no need to manipulate it. Just a misunderstanding on my part. Your description was extremely clear. And your response is much appreciated. I was brought up Christian but have found that my spiritual needs do not meet most of their following. But what I have found through exploration of religions is that I am drawn to Native American and Eastern Religions/Philosophies. It is hard to talk to most people that I am close to about these experiences because they are fixated on dogma. So I don't talk about it much and then do my own research and meet wonderful people like yourself.

You are drawn to Eatern and other traditions. There is nothing wrong with that but whatever it is know that it is always the call of God that pulls at your heart in myriad ways.
Talking about spiritual things is quite a modern happening. It does not need talking it is deep, silent digging....very intimate, very up close. Rightly done, Quietude is the nature of it. You are doing just fine....respond to the call of love will lead you right. Don't confuse it with self empowerment, miracles of energy, healings etc. They may come along side but if you stay non-chalent to all that and stay with just the call of love that arises in your heart, as pure call of God, it will lead you to right places, people and master. Keeping clear of distractions is the only art

I can relate to the dilemma with a christian upbringing - but not all christians are dogmatic and close minded. Like you I tend to keep quiet about what I do when I am with very religious people
