My daughter just called me from the emergency room (at about 11pm).
She was there with a girlfriend. The girlfriend's tiny daughter was given an adult dosage of some antibiotic by a sitter because she thought the child might have a uti.
When they picked up the child from the sitter she looked deathly gray. They took her directly to the hospital. The hospital didn't know what was wrong finally the sitter confessed to giving the child medicine but wouldn't say what. The hospital wouldn't do anything until blood work came back so they knew exactly they were dealing with.
My daughter said the hell with this and held the child (with the mothers permission) and started healing her. The child came back to life a little and vomited till there was nothing. The child now has 4 ivs has been given charcoal and is being held by my daughter unless they are doing tests. The biggest worry is kidney and liver failure. The child is almost lifeless.
One thing my daughter can do is keep people alive. That is her gift. So she is going to hold that child untill the crisis is past. The hospital doesn't interfere. They know her and have seen her in action.
They have brought charges against the sitter because she wouldn't reveal what drug she gave the child and interfered with saving her life. I'm sure she has been arrested by now.
I'll post an update in the morning.
The child is ok. She was released early afternoon. Every one was exhausted so I have no details.

Glad she is OK. Do keep us posted.
With pharmacist head on reprehensible as the sitters action was, kids CAN be given adult doses of some antibiotics without serious problems.. Most antibiotics don't have serious life threatening side effects even in overdose so if you ever find out what she was given do let me know . I would be unsure if the child's problems were as a result of the underlying problem or of the antibiotic given by the sitter to try and deal with what she obviously saw as a problem.
I don't deny reiki can be very useful in an emergency - but it is never EVER a substitute for conventional medical treatment in the situation you described.
I never describe reiki as an alternative therapy - it is always complemntary
Absolutely. I agree. We will find out the medication when the blood work comes in. The sitter still refuses to reveal what it is.
It is very strange that the sitter will not say what medication she gave to the child and would rather put the child's life at risk and themselves in jail.
It's against the law to dispense prescription drugs and to "not" reveal and admit is her right under the 5th amendment in out country.
It's our law that you have the right "not" to self incriminate. So the charges against her are dispensing a controled substance and child endangerment. She is within her rights to refuse to answer.
We know that it was a anti biotic strong enough to shut down the liver and kidneys. But the child is home and and recovering. The issue now seems to be injury to the throat when they pumped her stomach. So it is hard to get fluids into her.

Just to explain no drug can 'shut down' the liver or kidney. They can cause damage that prevents either organ functioning at optimum capacity. Sometimes - as with paracetamol - the harm only happen in overdose. Paracetamol in normal doses has no effect on liver function. In fact we used to use paracetamol as a pian killer on the ward where people went with damaged livers!
I would be surprised if this child had ANY liver or kidney damage as a result of this one off dose whatever antibiotic was used. I am not surprised the main damage is to her throat due to the stomach pump. I am sure she will make a full recovery.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this point. Since niether of us are kidney or liver specialists there is no need to discuss it. But the child seems to be fine. The issue was when doctors won't act...for what ever reason...sometimes we can.
In fairness, as Sally is a registered Pharmacist, I'd say she has sufficient knowledge of what damage can or can't be done by things like antibiotics, even if she's not a liver or kidney specialist.

It would probably seem difficult to charge her with dispensing a controlled substance if they don't actually know what the substance is.... how do they know it's a controlled substance? Saying that, the fact that she's keeping quiet about what it was suggests she's hiding something. Was it even a legal substance?

Our's too. "You have the right to remain silent ..." It's also upheld by the European Court of Human Rights.
Our's too. "You have the right to remain silent ..." It's also upheld by the European Court of Human Rights.
It's more along the lines of "You do not have to say anything unless you wish to do so, but I must warn you that if you fail to mention any fact which you rely on in your defence in court, your failure to take this opportunity to mention it may be treated in court as supporting any relevant evidence against you. If you do wish to say anything, what you say may be given in evidence"
So it's generally in your best interests to communicate with the Police, otherwise it could go against you as been seen to be obstructing justice or investigation.

This turned out to be a duplicate.
In fairness...my new daughter is a nurse and my other daughter's kindneys and liver shut down from too much medication after surgery.
I reikied her for a day and a half and they started working again. After there was no damage.
But also in fairness...when the doctor comes into the room and says your daughters kidneys and liver are shuting down or have shut down, her body is being poisoned by ammonia and we don't know why and can give you no hope?
IT'S TIME FOR REIKI!
This is the way doctors talk to the families of patients. Semantics are for students to argue about in classes, the shut down or damage issue is really not for us to argue over. Niether of us are kidney or liver specialists so why even address the issue.
On the sitter issue. I can only imagine that well meaning people told her not to say anything to incriminate herself. We as healers can't comprehend withholding information that would be needed for medical treatment; but the reality is that all people are not nice.
