I tattoo makeup (brows, eyeliner, eye shadow and lip color). I numb my clients with topical anesthetics but it doesn't always numb them all the way.
When I got a message and the therapist used Reiki to get out a stubborn spot; a new journey began for me. I thought at the time...Hmmmmmm... I could use this for women who didn't numb well.
Well it became a spiritual journey thst is still in progress. I never did use it in my permanent makeup practice... until yesterday.
Yesterday, my client did not numb well and was having panic attacks. I asked her if I could do reiki on her (luckily she knew me and what reiki was) she said yes. I put more numbing cream on her, turned off the music (which is very soothing music but not doing the trick) took off my gloves, relaxed a moment and put my hands on the sides of her face and head.
Backstory...this woman was kidnapped, while sleeping, as a child and what happened to her was unmentionable.
The energy that passed was so soft and subtle that I wasn't sure if it was passing. She was motionless. After a few minutes, I removed my hands and proceeded to tattoo her eyeliner. She never moved. When I asked her to turn toward me or away from me (as I worked on each eye) she didn't seem to understand what I was saying. But we finished without incident.
She told me afterwards that she felt peace and didn't really know where she was. Kool 🙂 I'll take that over a panic attack any day 🙂 I held her for a couple of minutes and she cried just a little. Then she left.
It's hard to explain how I felt. I just sort of sat there. After a while I cleaned up and went home. So grateful for my life and so terribly saddened by her experience.
One day I would LOVE to use some reiki to help help a client relax into a hypnotherapy trance................
