I am not sure I am following what you are saying. But it seems to me that all the healing modalities start from the other side and then passed on from person to person.
Am I on your track? Unfortunately people add their own flavor to whatever they learn or teach...or does it evolve? And is the evolution a bad thing?
As a natural healer with pesky uncontroled hot hands that often left me sick and clueless...I found Reiki to be a great starting point to understand what was happening and learn not to absorb but to chanel.
Now that I have an apprentice...who is ten times the natural healer that I was...and I have been studying other modalities? Other than help her to chanel instead of absorb...I have not attuned her. She is so powerful and such a good person? I loan her every book (cd and dvd) she wants and we talk.
I am waiting for her to ask or for the universe to present a starting point for her. I studied for 2 years before getting my 1 and 2. Another 1 year before my master/teacher. I was a fabulous journey to start with.
It was my start. I wish to give her her best start.
Hi Steve
I wonder just what is the best connection procedure, is it one instigated and controlled by a Reiki Master or any humanly created system of healing or is it one that can be asked for by the student with absolutely no input from the teacher?
Everything starts and finishes with a thought, we cannot do anything without firstly choosing a thought that will create an action, as long as someone has received an attunement or empowerment and they are prepared to pass on the healing attunement or empowerment, then that is the focus that will make it happen, it is the same with the receiver, they set their intention to receive an attunement or empowerment to a healing modality from someone who has already received it and that is the focus that will allow them to receive it, otherwise the attunement is not available.
I understand that human beings have created all of the healing modalities and Reiki modality was created by a human being called Usui and it has been passed from person to person ever since, this gives the people who cannot naturally heal the potential to learn how to heal and develop themselves within the format of the modality, had he not chosen to pass on the healing modality to anyone else and had chosen to keep it to use just for himself, then Reiki would have died with him when he died.
The reality is that all healers are human beings just the same as everyone else, but rather than utilising our creative potentiality to create a car or something else, we utilise it to develop self to the point that we can help others to develop themselves and be healed, or if we do know how to do that for ourselves, then we can choose to become empowered to move towards learning how to heal by receiving an attunement or empowerment to a healing modality that is already in existence and has been made available to help teach others how to heal.
i was shown just this about 20 years ago by teachers far wiser than i. That for me was the beginning of a different choice for me; what was the choice?
Simple i chose to try and understand what already existed as far as healing was concerned rather then continue to use/teach a man made system of healing. Did i need to be able to control and manipulate that unseen force, no i just needed to maintain a level of openness that allowed its full and complete expression.
Nothing exists as far as healing is concerned until a human being makes a conscious choice to start healing self or others, but there are a lot of people who have required the empowerments and tools to enable them to do so, even though these have come through the man made healing attunements and empowerments that are passed from person to person, I wonder Steve, how far do you think you would have got on your own healing journey if you had not received the man made attunement that empowered you to move forward? 🙂
No body will ever heal in the way Usui did no matter what they believe the teachings to be.
You are sort of correct, if someone learns any healing modality in the way that it was created and intended to be used, then they would be able to do what the modality was designed to help them to do, nothing more or less is available, in that they will be healing in the same way that the creator of the modality empowered them to work within the modality when they poured themselves into it.
The healing modalities should fulfil the function that they have been designed to do, if approached openly and used in the way they were designed to be used, they are a teaching and personal development tool that empowers people to change. 🙂

Paul, I could deconstruct your posts to until the cows come home - but there's no point, it always ends up at the same stalemate position. How far would you have gotten on "your own healing journey", Paul, if you hadn't taken apart the Reiki attunement to see how it worked in order to create the Gaia Now attunement (as you've describe previously)?
How far would you have gotten "on your own healing journey" if you hadn't asked Sharon Brooks' from Australians help to "chanel some information for you" when creating the Gaia Now attunement?
Paul actually you are right it was very important that i learn and in turn understand Reiki 🙂
What it did over time was allow me to experience the difference between a humanly guided energy and an energy that is truly of the Spirit.
The difference is the level of integration that is possible by the receiver. The human taint means that the 'healing' is more often rejected at the deepest level, recognition of the true source is not possible. If on the other hand there is no human taint then the chances of the receiver totally accepting 'healing' ie embracing the source increases dramatically.
You may well say all energy is the same and at the core of our being that is correct, humanly we are very different from an energy perspective.
I choose not to get into a long and disceted discussion about your comment that everything begins with a thought and ends with a thought; there is much that is totally beyond our understanding.. Equally it fits where you are so its all good.
Yes its the same for me, thankfully we are all different.
Paul your comment about if Usui taught people they would be able to do what he did would i think mean that Reiki would have a far higher profile than it does now; people would generally not need Drs. in fact no other system of healing would be needed.
I wonder if Usui even understood himself what he was able to do and why and just simply did it anyway. i wonder how many have seen an individual move as one with the energy of healing, plenty saw Usui for sure; did they understand no, but they copied. Reiki has far more to do with martial arts that anything Usui did.
Hi WildStrawberry
Paul, I could deconstruct your posts to until the cows come home - but there's no point, it always ends up at the same stalemate position. How far would you have gotten on "your own healing journey", Paul, if you hadn't taken apart the Reiki attunement to see how it worked in order to create the Gaia Now attunement (as you've describe previously)?
The answer to that is simple WildStrawberry, my own healing journey of personal discovery would have continued and I would have continued developing self and my healing abilities so that I could help others, but the Gaia-Now modality would not have come into existence had I not experience the many healing modalities that I chose to learn, so I would not have fulfilled my hope to be able to help others to learn how to heal and personally develop themselves at some point within my journey. 🙂
How far would you have gotten "on your own healing journey" if you hadn't asked Sharon Brooks' from Australians help to "chanel some information for you" when creating the Gaia Now attunement?
Actually I did not ask Sharron to do what she did when I sent her the attunement, I would have been happy with the feedback of yes that does what it is supposed to do, or no it does not work for me, but that is the way that Sharron works and as she said this was a more serious form of channelling than what she normally does, but yes it did answer some of my misunderstandings at that time, like I thought that all of the modalities needed more than one attunement because that is what I had experienced when I received my connections to the other modalities that I had explored.
I do not have a problem with the healing modalities, people often need something to help them to start their own healing journeys of personal discovery and that is the function of the modalities, how far they can help someone to develop themselves is in reality up to the individual practitioner of the modality and the person who has chosen to receive the help that they can provide, the modalities cannot do anything on their own. 🙂
Hi Steve
Yes it is good to reflect upon the journey from time to time to remember how we have changed as we have progressed and developed. 🙂
What it did over time was allow me to experience the difference between a humanly guided energy and an energy that is truly of the Spirit.
So if we replace the words human to mean our everyday thinking aspect of consciousness and spirit to mean our higher aspect of consciousness, then we are talking the same language. 🙂
Reiki encompasses both aspects of our consciousness. Rei encompasses our higher consciousness in that it is often perceived to be mysterious and has a different form of intelligence to our everyday thinking aspect of consciousness and Ke which encompasses our human nature to which our everyday thinking aspect of consciousness is interlinked.
So where you say a humanly guided energy I perceive that which our everyday thinking aspect of consciousness perceives things and that which is truly of the spirit, to me refers to the understanding that we get from our higher aspect of consciousness as in intuition, empathy, insight, a knowing of what is without the person telling us, these are what I perceive as our higher self.
So to my understanding Reiki is a combination of both aspects of self combining to work together in harmony to create harmony through healing the inner divisions and the conflict that the divisions create within us, which is how all healing works, so as above so below we become whole and one.
If we choose to just utilise either the Rei or the ke in isolation to attempt to create healing, then we would not have the whole being to function with, to say that one is right and the other is wrong, will create division in place of that which we seek which is wholeness. 🙂
To my understanding there is a oneness of consciousness that we are all an integral aspect of, so to me there is only be one source otherwise it could not be a oneness, but I do understand that if someone is attempting to heal from a persona of trying to be something rather than from the fullness of self, then they will not succeed, for the persona creates inner divisions in place of wholeness.
We are all human beings, there is absolutely nothing wrong with accepting that we are a human being. Healers are just human beings who are at various stages within their paths of personal discovery of the fullness of self, we will not always get things to work the way that we think they should work all of the time, but that is all right, it is after all how we all learn and develop ourselves, we are all one, if we wish to perceive that then we need to become one within the fullness of self by embracing everything that we are, then we stop worrying and allow ourselves to be.
You may well say all energy is the same and at the core of our being that is correct, humanly we are very different from an energy perspective.
Yes I agree that we all think differently and our individual underlying thought patterns and beliefs are the driving force of our life experience, but that is what makes our life experiences unique to each other, though when we connect with our higher aspect of consciousness, then we get a different picture of what is rather than what we create. 🙂
I choose not to get into a long and disceted discussion about your comment that everything begins with a thought and ends with a thought; there is much that is totally beyond our understanding.. Equally it fits where you are so its all good.
If we choose to believe that something is beyond our understanding, then it becomes so, if we choose to embrace the belief that we are not capable of doing something, then we make it so, if we are open and willing to accept that we will understand and we will be able to learn to do something, then we are open to develop our understanding and abilities, I surprise myself all of the time by being open to change. 🙂
Paul your comment about if Usui taught people they would be able to do what he did would i think mean that Reiki would have a far higher profile than it does now; people would generally not need Drs. in fact no other system of healing would be needed.
The healing modality can do nothing on its own, it is a means to an end, it is up to the people who choose to learn it to develop themselves and their understanding to the point that they can use it in the way that it was intended to be used, I do not think that anyone in the west has gone to learn it from the people who could teach it in the way that Usui taught it to others, perhaps this might happen in the future?
I wonder if Usui even understood himself what he was able to do and why and just simply did it anyway. i wonder how many have seen an individual move as one with the energy of healing, plenty saw Usui for sure; did they understand no, but they copied. Reiki has far more to do with martial arts that anything Usui did.
Well he was the first, in modern times, to create a form of healing that came from the fullness of self, so I think he did very well to understand as much as he did. 🙂
Personally I do not perceive healing as an energy, a creative power used to create a change would be closer to my understanding, but then I understand that we use the same creative power to create disease as we do to heal the disease, but yes we perceive people's connection with the fullness of self to create a healing change quite often. 🙂
As for the martial arts, well that is Japanese way of teaching that is tried and tested, so it is not a surprise that people would think that was the correct way to teach someone to personally develop themselves into a healer utilising a Japanese healing modality. 😉
Yes, I understand that the modalities can't do anything on their own (like rule books) Which, puts healing modalities on a par with chain saws; hammer drills; bulldozers; or any other tool that cannot do anything on their own, but are never the less used with the intention of transformation.
You often say, 'follow the instructions' and the modality will work according to the founders way of setting up the modality. So, if:
how far they can help someone to develop themselves is in reality up to the individual practitioner of the modality and the person who has chosen to receive the help that they can provide, the modalities cannot do anything on their own. 🙂
where does the discrepancy lie:- With a bad workman blaming the tools; or with tools that are not fit for purpose? If the tools are always limited by the 'skill' of the practitioner then that leaves the individual right where they started - operating within the restraints of their own limitations.
Hi WildStrawbery
There is no discrepancy WildStrawberry, it is the same with everything that we choose to do, Steve is right in a sense that no two healers are the same, we all perceive things in the way that we choose to perceive them, we all have different core ways of being that we set up for self, the modalities will guide someone in a certain way to help them develop self into wholeness, it is entirely up to the individual if they choose to go down that road or do their own thing.
At the end of the day the old saying of we can lead a horse to water but we can't make it drink comes to mind, we all have a free will to accept something as it is or reject or adopt it to suit our own understanding. 🙂
WS
Well for sure i choose not to be a mechanic =)
Paul
Yes your description of what Reiki is supposed to be about is accurate. BUT was it what Usui actually did. To say that he did well sounds almost patronizing and not a bit smug.
Your comment about following his teaching again is what people have been led to believe, but where are the almost uncanny healers that have followed his teachings, i bet more than a few have been to Japan from the west.
Nobody can teach another to be a copy of who they are and in turn do what they do.
Is Reiki simply a tool to be controlled and used, how sad;
There is more to Usui than most will ever realize.

No, it was a statement of what is.
Your comment about following his teaching again is what people have been led to believe, but where are the almost uncanny healers that have followed his teachings, i bet more than a few have been to Japan from the west.
Yes I am aware that some have been across, though I am not aware of any who has been given the opportunity to start again and learn it in the way that they teach it.
Nobody can teach another to be a copy of who they are and in turn do what they do.
Yes we cannot make someone who we are, but we can teach them to do what we do, if we could not, then there would not be any healing modalities in existence, there would only be natual healers. 🙂
Is Reiki simply a tool to be controlled and used, how sad;

I appreciate that, but what Usui was and did as a human being and what the modality he created does, are two different things. 😉
