Wow, this conversation moved quickly... 🙂

I think I understand what you're asking Stephanie, but I think all the replies are making a similar point... that the term "lightworkers" is some new-age term and such labels only serve to create a seperation between "them" and "us" (i.e. I'm a lightworker and they are not), hence when we have such seperation/duality we are just feeding the ego and creating conflict, as, a true "lightworker" or person who has traversed (I won't say reached) a level of enlightenment will not concern themselves with other people as being seperate from themselves, or as themselves somehow being able to do "better" (can't think of another term to use) than what others are doing.

But I don't want to "arrive" to be a Reiki master/teacher. I want to arrive at "enlightenment".

In Buddhism, one of the teachings is that those who grasp for enlightenment will never reach it, as englightenment only manifests when one lets go of such grasping attachments. It's essentially saying that we are all already enlightened, except that we end up covering up this enlightenment through our attachments to things, and by removing attachments we will discover enlightenment.

When I say "I am not a Reiki master/teacher"...I mean that is not my identity. That's not my destination. It's a growth process and part of my attributes now. Like...I learned math and I use it in my life every day. It's part of the knowledge and skills I have acquired; but not my identity.

They're all labels. We don't need labels to simply Be true to our self. Labels only serve to differentiate things in a society where we need such differentiation, just so long as we always recognise they are just labels, and are not the underlying truth.

I live all these lives and learn all these lessons...for what? To be source like...I believe. Learning to have compassion and to, without judgment, tend to the needs of others; even to the point of taking on their pain.

"taking on their pain" is just another form of attachment. I regularly hear of people doing Reiki or other healing talking of taking precautions to protect themselves from taking on anothers pain, but from my own experience, that is only because people let themselves believe that it will happen. Once we change our perception and recognise that any such "transference" of pain (or whatever) is simply created by ourselves within our own self, then we also learn that we do not need to put up protection, as there really is nothing to protect against.

I know, I know...if you do it right the pain doesn't come into you. These are little points of method that detract from the main issue.

Not really, they are important points, that help us to realise where our True Self really is.

What is the main issue? In this thread...are we the lightworkers? Are we part of the bringing on of a golden age, an evolutionary leap. By our very actions of using healing vibrations? Are we affecting the world?

Are we the lightworkers? If you want to label yourself like that then yes, but as Jnani correctly says, we are all lightworkers.

Are we bringing on the golden age? Yes and no. In the past there were people who wanted to be seen (the ego at play) to be 'bettering' things, and they created the "new age" movement so that they were seperate from those who were not 'bettering' things in their eyes. As more and more people have taken on the "new age" philosophy, there were those within who's ego's were no longer being fed, so sought to be 'better still', and thus created further 'movements'... pick your name... the pleiadean age, the sirius age, the ascended age, the golden age etc. etc. all of which are merely seperations of people brought about by ego.

When I talk of ego, don't take it as being a bad thing, it's a natural thing that is part of us all. I'm not talking about social egotistical behaviour, I'm talking about the ego mind that creates duality. It is just that we need to recognise it at play, and not let it make us believe that it is what we truly are.

So, do we affect the world... yes of course we do, but so does everyone else (which was Jnani's point). By treating ourselves as seperate and giving ourselves labels, only serves to seek to ignore those other people and the things they are doing to change the world, whether it's considered for the 'better' or not.

You may like to read a book called "One City" by Ethan Nichtern (One City: A Declaration of Interdependence eBook: Ethan Nichtern: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store) who discusses interdependence through the eyes of buddhist philosophy (if you want to label him you can see him as a kind of new age buddhist 🙂 ) It's not a long book, but it's very nicely written and illustrates the principles of Interdependence nicely.

And finally, please don't be put off by the responses you've had on here, these are just people sharing their own knowledge in their own words, and I'm sure, there will be some of the concepts that have been discussed that will fall into place inside you and will be of use either now or sometime in the future as the need arises.

All Love and Reiki Hugs

There is a new age thought that we are changing the consciousness of the planet and raising the vibration etc.
It is full of folly for you are only the followers of what consciousness is doing. You are following the nudges of what wants to happen. What is happening is happening on its own. You are not needed in the equation as the doer, the harbinger or orchestrator of change...the change is taking place on its own accord. You are being swept along with the flow of the mighty flow.

Pretty much like a river. It is changing its course not because of a twig that got stuck on to the left bank.. and as a consequence of that stuck twig, the river veered a little to the left-by the sheer force of that twig . Not likely! The river does not care about much else than the flow itself. It is incognizant to individual capabilities. Individual effort, skills, gifts etc. Those things are only important to the individual...not to the flow. Great non-chalence in action.

Consciousness comands and we just follow it. An idea comes in mind but if you start owning that idea and taking credit and making it all about you ...and most do .nobody can stop you but it is full of mis-understanding.

Youtube and indeed most of internet is replete with such concepts. But flow does what it does in its own time...No one is the keeper of the mighty river other than the flow itself.
So every one in that flow is flow itself....but no one can claim to be the director of this mighty flow.

So light worker-there is not such a thing unless it is being spoken in the totality of all that is happening - all that is in the scheme of things. Then if it is all light work. Then the word 'light' becomes redundant. It is what it is. No specialness about it.

What Jnani is saying here Stephanie has been said in similar words by yet another individual standing in the Light of god - casting a shadow in his own form and claiming ownership and directorship of the divine by putting his name to the formerly undivided nameless:

Osho on Shaktipat:

"so if a person claims that he is doing shaktipat, that he is doing the transmissionn of energy, then he is wrong. It would be just like the light bulb declaring it is the giver of light. Because the light is always emitted through the bulb, the bulb may be under the delusion that it is the creator of light. This is not so. It is not the primal source of light but merely a medium for its manifestation. So a person that declare he can perform shaktipat is under the same delusion as the bulb."

Hope this helps (if you need it)

I hope you do not mind me asking about the above in the hope of better understanding the concept. Does the above statement mean that we are following what consciousness wants and as such we do not have free will to make our own choices, that every choice we make is the one consciousness wants us to make and hence 'nudges' us to make?

Consciousness nudges us and we move...your free will can fill the details...as little or as much as one likes. but the general direction is the movement of the whole.

Okay, so the general direction is dictated by consciousness. Does that refer to the overall direction or each individual's direction? Also, where people have freedom to fill the details, what happens if what they want goes against the general direction that consciousness wants?

On another note, do you think that people can change the general direction of consciousness through their thoughts and actions? I ask because I have seen/heard people talk about the law of attraction and other such things that say people can have what ever they desire.

Yes people can have whatever they want and desire. That is pretty simplistic. That's how reality works.
then there is other dynamic too of surrender etc.

It is? People can have what ever they want? Where does this belief come from? Look at people's lives and tell me they all have what ever they want. I do not know anyone, not one person, not now and not in all my life, that can say with honesty that they have everything they want. That is the reality I experience every day. To me and to all the people I have met throughout my life, the belief that everyone can have whatever they want is a fantasy.

Now this makes sense to me. Acceptance is key. Acceptance of one's path and all it contains (and does not contain) and surrender to the will of the Universe makes sense. This to me is the total opposite and contradictory to the 'everyone can have whatever they want and desire' concept. They cannot both be valid because one negates the other. It is either a case of acceptance and surrender or trying to have everything desired (which comes from a place of no acceptance and no surrender). The two are mutually exclusive.

You hear people say that and that is what it is....with a certain consciousness, it is easy and entirely possible.

but vast majority of people are slaves to reality rather than masters of their reality because mind runs them in thousand different directions

most don't find themselves to be able to do so because of inner conflict. It needs a certain crystallization, centering. It is physically possible and I know many many people who are well versed in it. but I say it is still no great shakes. only if one wants to but can't manage it it becomes awesome.

but it is fantasy for most. You are right there...but there are people who can and is not a fantasy for them. It is as I said not that difficult either. Does need commitment.

but as I also said before...there is other dynamic too ...of surrender. that manifesting reality becomes a mere child's play unable to hold their attention anymore.

I have to say "this is unpleasant".

Conflict is unpleasant.

To take peoples post and quote their words for debate is unpleasant.

To jump on a sentence or a phrase and focus on that instead of the topic is unpleasant.

To judge people's theories and call them folly or incorrect is unpleasant.

Every healer is extraordinary. To be able to access healing energy is extraordinary. To be here at a time when children are being born with 3 or 4 strands of dna is extraordinary. Little children with telepathy being called autistic because they don't see the point in talking or falling into an archaic education system. Extraordinary things are happening all around us.

The us and them designation is wasted words. It's about a collective movement of healing and light...co operation instead of competition...I am just trying to make sense of it all.

OBVIOUSLY...the regulars here don't think that they are or are part of the lightworker movement. That was my question. But every movement either dies out, influences current thought or evolves into the next stage of global enlightenment.

We shall see...

Anyone that wishes to discuss this with me can find me through my website, but I am disconnecting from this chatroom.

I really struggle to believe that everyone can have whatever they want. I can believe that there are some people that do get what they want, but I believe that is because what they want is part of their path. I believe that we are all limited in what we can have and can only ever have what is possible on our path. I believe that there is no mechanism or process that exists that can allow anyone to have anything that is not part of their path. That makes sense to me, it may not do so to others, but all the experiential evidence I have and if people are honest, they have, points to it being more likely than the belief that everyone can have whatever they want.

Surrender is infinitely more sensible and pleasant, infact it is one's true position in the scheme of things to be utterly surrendered.
If that makes better sense already, what else matters?...Surrender is very pleasing naturally. It is the dreaded word but it is infinitely and natural to
Its smugness of mind that keeps harping on about free-will and its own creativity and uniqueness...surrender is infinitely peace-giving

For that reason alone I said we do what we do insurrender there is nothing special about any work that we do because if there is no ownership and doership it is all HIS work, HIS world, HIS doing alone.

It does not sit well with most beacuse mind is convinced of its own abilities and unique gifts..but reality is we move as the whole moves...there is no individual direction separate from th edirection of the whole. simplest things are the hardest to see.

True. Conflict for the sake of conflict is pure acrimony. It is naturally unpleasant.
The entire creation is extra ordinary. Not just healers, energy workers....everyone/everything is extra ordinary. Extra ordinary things are always happening since big bang. Global enlightenment is something, if wants to happen will happen, not by healing the planet, sending out tons of healing being active as a light worker. Out of doing, more mess happens.

Individual effort can't even bring about personal enlightenment, let alone global enlightenment. It is all to do with surrendering personal effort and doer-ship. Which is the root of all trouble and strife.

We are not part of this movement or that we are part of the whole. The movement is purely of the Whole, we are swaying with it. In that there is a let go. A relaxation, then raising the planet's vibration is not down to a few individuals. It is not even a movement, it is natural progression.

For example millions of years ago, organisms didn't have eyes then suddenly in many many species all at once(over a few millian years!) eye muscle started to develop - pure movement of consciousness. If some of those organisms set out that they are a part of a movement of great seeing (incidentally en-lightenment suits this example! haha), then would that have been their life-purpose or a folly of understanding?

It is what wants to happen and the flow will get the momentum going. Things that were previously unconceivable become part of new reality. Simple. If new reality/vibration wants to happen, we can't stop it, we can't assist it. We are in the mix/cosmic soup.

Your query is innocent, it is not smug...you are really trying to make sense of things.
Maybe this mix, this cosmic soup is so bonkers/beyond the stretch of understanding, the scale of it so infinite, so mad that we can only enjoy this mystery and never make any sense of it.

Cheer up my friend!
