I have just joined the UK Reiki Federation so very early days for me. Joined for a couple of reasons
1. think it looks good on my paperwork to belong with them, although l live by the principles
2. Insurance worked out to be reasonable price for me
3. Hope to get work from being listed on their web site.

Hope this is of help to you Greenqueen

I belong to the Reiki Healers and Teachers Society. I joined years ago because I felt clients would be happier if they knew I belonged to an Association with Codes of Conduct etc. They also provide Insurance cover/newsletter (which I contribute an article regularly!)social gatherings/training etc.
Each to their own, though. It is not necessary to join any as Giles has pointed out!

I'm a member of IPTI (Independant Professional Therapists International). They are not specifically a Reiki organisation though...

I'm a member of Reiki Association of Ireland and used to belong to Uk Reiki Fed, mainly for insurance.

Hi ya

I'm a member of the Complementary Therapists Association, which covers me for many therapies including Reiki. But to be a Reiki member you have to have Reiki 2 and A&P qualifications.

Best Wishes

thanks for your responses.
as a clinical aromatherapist i am with I.F.P.A and recieve a magazine, notifications of events, courses etc.
i abide by the principles (where i can 🙂 )but wondered if belonging specifically to a reiki body would benefit?
mainly because i noticed on this forum many of you are aware of events in the reiki world that i am not and thought this may be a way of keeping abreast of a therapy i practice and feel i should know about.

Hi ya Greenqueen

Unless Reiki is a big thing in your life, I wouldn't bother and save your money. The best way of learning Reiki is by personal study and practising it regularly with clients and fellow Reiki friends.

This is just a personal opinion, I'm sure that other Reiki HP'ers may come up with reasons to join a Reiki specific organisation.

Best Wishes

Reiki Pixie
