I've been qualified and working since 1991 and was a member of another organisation initially, but got a bit disillusioned by them and so joined the AoR in 2004. I'm so glad I did. Their AoR seminars I've attended have been great, and I enjoy the quarterly magazine. i also belong to a local Area Group and we meet up quarterly. Has anyone else done one of the new AoR Webinars? I did one in June, and it was such fun, (plus of course the serious bit of learning new skills and techniques) the live chat-line allowed us viewers to chat to each another online during the live feed. It got a bit irreverent at times.....felt like naughty school kids chatting at the back of class! But, we all learned something, had a laugh, and got our CPD points..all from the comfort of our sofa!
its really good that you hold your PA in such high regard, you are like a walking billboard for them 😀
Its a shame that there are so many people on here that dont have the same experiences as you do with that particular one.
Professional Org's - a delicate balancing act, eh?
Thanks for your post, SportsTherapy. I agree and it's a delicate task for them to balance the needs of their members, and still make a profit to sustain the business. It's just the same for all us therapists ..we aim to run our businesses with honesty, wisdom and compassion believing that 'what you put in, is what you get out'.

Glad you said that. There is a confusion sometimes about business being nasty stuff and having lack of integrity. But business can ethical, honest and still be compassionate, which is of course good for business 😀
