Hi All,

Need to share a 'problem' I've noticed when treating a few clients who have sinus problems - and it's this: following a careful, thorough work through of the big toe and other toes for sinus points, they seems to become more "snuffly" and bunged up (I can hear it in their breathing, sometimed they sniff a lot) And it doesn't seem to have the desired effect of clearing. Oh dear! Am I making it worse? Possibly too much pressure on the related points?

Anyone else noticed this? Is there an explanation, maybe? Any thoughts would be welcomed!

Many thanks x

Hi,

I would suggest that it just confirms the treatment is working. Remember reflexology promotes homeostasis and therefore to do this it needs to clear toxins to help towards restoring balance within the body and it's systems. Just as when a client is harbouring a cold but it hasn't surfaced yet, they might have a reflexology session and then wham! They come down with a horrifc cold. If they are sniffing then that would suggest that it is clearing wouldn't it? And if they are bunged up then perhaps the sinuses are gearing up for lots of clearing! 😀

Also, from another point of view.. is this a very recent thing and have you had your heating on?! Maybe you could have either a humidifier on in the room or some bowls of hot water with eucalyptus drops as that may help their congestion ease.

I am sure you tell them to up their water/fluid intake.. to me it sounds like you are doing marvellously! Hurrah! 😀

Delighted, thank you for your very helpful reply. It's not a recent thing, but I'll certainly try putting out bowls of hot water with Eucalyptus to see if this helps.
It's just that I'm aware they sound more 'nasal' when they leave than when they arrive!

Hopefully its just the Reflexology working in its individual way, as you say.

Hi there, have you been able to follow up with your clients & see if the bunged up sinuses then clear out a little while after the treatment? maybe its just taking a little while for the treatment to fully take effect?
But also don't forget to give the adrenal gland reflexes a good working as that should help any inflammation/allergic reaction in the sinuses to calm down and thus allow the catarrh to be expelled a little easier.
good luck!

Angela

Hi angelat, Sorry so late to pick up your reply! Thanks for input. Yes, will also make sure I give adrenal reflexes extra attentiion - valuable tip as sinus congestion can be an elusive thing to tackle (or so I've found).

Many Thanks x
