Hi all,
Would desperately like some advice from those of you who are more experienced in fertility issues, I have been treating a woman who had a miscarriage at 5 months, (about 4 months ago). When I started her feet I had little sensation from them apart from picking up skeletal problems (this I put down to blocking off her emotions). Now her feet have changed dramatically, the endocrine system being very reactive. I was just wondering whether this is her coming to terms with her loss, or the fact that her body is getting ready to try for another baby?
I hoped someone had found similar results and could point me in the right direction?
Also in Suzanne Enzers book there is mention of activity in the tyroid reflex being problematic for women trying to conceive, does anyone know why this is likely to be the case?
Thank you all for reading
Reflexology
Hi. I haven't dealt with a woman who has had a miscarriage, but I have (successfully) done Reflex to aid conception. Are you trying to help this lady to get over the loss (physically and emotionally) or is she wanting to conceive again? Or both?
I would probably carry- on doing the straightforward routine on her, concentrating on the areas that feel dis- eased, and also give her some soothing breathing techniques/ visualizations that she can do at home - as stress will hinder her recovery. A great website for guided meditations is 'Quiet mind cafe'.
I am guessing that the Thyroid was described as 'problematic' because it enlarges during menstrual cycles and pregnancy? Not sure on that one! I read an article last year in Kindred Spirit (can't remember author) who said that the Reflexologist's job is to prepare the body for the baby. As the thyroid is a regulator, perhaps concentrate on this area too.
So keep at it, and let me know how it goes, Nic x
