I have started to use reflexolgy 5 mins per day on each of the following reflexology areas, bladder, prostate, ureter right & left, and the line link between the bladder & prostate
The bladder zone was quite painful at first, but after repeated sessions, it improved.
I moved to two sessions per day morning & evening.
Depending on the area, I sometimes use a tool given to me my an oriental exponent of reflexogy, approximately 6" long rounded at one end, and a "tear shape" at the other, end also rounded.
Whilst massaging the bladder are on my RHS foot, I felt a thin hard line across the zone. On treating with the tool, it went, only to return later, I treated it a second time, in the evening, and it also disappeared. However, that night the bladder zone swelled up, and a harder area in the "cross foot" direction materialsed. I also had a few lower groin twinges.
The swelling has subsided, but the hard are (approx 5mm wide * 12mm long) is still there

I would appreciate your views on whether I should keep massaging this area, or leave it for a while, and whther you believe I have been massaging too hard

Regards

Hi roadrocket,

Welcome to HP first of all. 🙂

The areas which you have detailed can sometimes be quite sensitive on the foot, so I personally would never use anything other than finger pressures. By varying the techniques you can avoid bruising or de-sensitising the areas; it is possible that the swelling up is a physical manifestation because you have overworked the area.

By using your fingers and thumbs you have a two way sense of what is happening in the area- ie. how the area changes underneath your fingers but also you can get a sense of how the area is physically feeling internally.

Are you experiencing a particular problem that you are targeting such a specific area?

The bladder is one of the elimination channels so I would suggest it may help to also cover the other ones if you have time i.e. sinus, liver, kidneys, lungs, colon.

My OH and I relax on the settee most evenings and give each other Reflexology so as long as it is feeling beneficial then carry on. 🙂

Hi gaiholistix

Thank you for taking the time and inclination to reply

Trying to offset frequent night visits to the bathroom and pains in bladder region

Oh, I ommitted to say I was also working the kidney region

Would you leave this sensitive area till it subsided or give mild massage

I really appreciate your comments & help

Kindest Regards

Hi Roadrocket,

It is really a case of being aware of your body and listening to your intuition to decide if enough is enough.

Reflexology does not have to be painful to be effective. It is very much an intuitive energy healing tool, so if the area is too sensitive to use pressure on, then simply set your intention to create positive healing around the problem area to reduce the symptoms. :).

You can aways use the reflexolgy points on your hands if you need a way of focusing your intention.

Have you had a visit to your GP for a check up on the areas?

Hi Gaiaholistix

Yes I have visited the GP and been on anti-biotics to kill off an infection, but may have to go for a scan if it continues
Obviously concerned so hoping reflexology can assist

Can you damage internal organs by being too vigorous on the reflex zones?

Kindest Regards

Roadrocket

No, Reflexology doesn't work like that but you may make the foot physically tender through over stimulation.

Stay calm and relaxed and focus on creating positive healing to the area.
