Hi

I'm having one of my 'bent out of shape' episodes and am curious if any of you back wizards can tell me what this is.

About 3 times a year I have an episode that starts off with a really sharp pain around by sacral spine, it then moves onto a feeling that there is something 'extra' in my spine almost like there is a foreign body lodged between one or two of the vertabra in my lumber/sacral spain.

Then the fun starts and the muscles down the left side of my spine go into spasm and this literally pulls me out of shape my torso twists round and I end up with the left side of my waist about 5cm higher than my right and my stomach muscles twisted forward and to the left. It looks horrible and don't feel great either ! I find it difficult to bend down and to lift my right leg.

From experience I know that the best thing to do is to keep it moving and after a couple of days it rights itself. Yesturday I took 2 Ibuprofen which worked a treat (I have a very high pain threshold and don't normally take painkillers but I thought they might reduce any inflammation).

I don't know it it's related but I have had very extensive endometriosis in the past - I had a whopper of a cyst and one ovary removed three years ago. The bendy episodes were occuring for years before surgery though.

Have I described a common condition and if so what is it ?

Yours curiously

Lou xxx

could be linked to psoas muscle, myofascial release is effective in treating postural dysfunction.

Stretch. You are probably stressed into the ground. You have no base. To expand to your proper height and level of purpose lift your shoulders to the level of your chin. This allows proper breathing. I don't care what they say about it inducing a stressful state. Nothing is more stressful than being in a crumpled state. Lengthen the spine. Do AT and get rolfed.
