Hi, I'm looking for some advice urgently (today if possible! 🙂
Have a client who wanted help for chronic blushing - I was fairly confident in EFT (I've been using it with people for quite a while for a myriad of both simple and complex problems) and also did a bit of TAT with her, but a couple of hours after the session she started blushing again same as ever. Any tips, suggestions? I suspect I may have needed to be more specific with EFT, but any other ideas would be very valuable. I offered her an extra free session tomorrow, so would be grateful for any advice.
Cheers

Hi Masha,
Imho we are talking aspects and client expectation. No matter what method you use, if there are many aspects, it may take longer to achieve lasting results. I used to do what you are doing, and then changed policy completely and now give the client a realistic number of sessions, so neither of us can feel bad if "it didn't work". This way, you still get paid if you are doing your best, and the client is pleasantly happy when the treatment is complete. Maybe next time you see her, you can explain about aspects and put her mind at ease. She may well be blaming herself for "being a failure", and you're perhaps doing the same too, probably unnecessarily.
RE: Help needed!
I agree with Suzanne - it is often unrealistic to expect complete success in the first session. It does happen, yes but don't be disheartened if after one session there hasn't been a massive breakthrough.
As far as tapping on blushing goes, I expect you have asked her what she think the triggers are and tapped on those? I way I find useful to work thoroughly with clients is to ask them how they feel when they think about the issue (ie. blushing, or the emotion they get with it), and ask them to tell me when they can remember first feeling that same emotion/reaction. Ask them if they can remember a time before the age of 20, 15, 10, 5.. See if you can root out the first times they have this same reaction as tap on how they feel right now when they think about it. I have found that the further back you go the quicker the intensity drops with EFT, and them this impacts on their reaction in the present.
Also you may have found that between sessions your client has had time to think about and reflect on her issue and may come up with some different aspects for you.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Is the blushing hormone related? Are there symptoms of underlying rosacea?
RE: Help needed!
Bear in mind that blushing is the body's mechanism for cooling down. It could be like tapping for stopping your heart from beating...

Blushing is similar to stuttering in that some are more prone to it than others in a physical way. But we all bluush and stutter to acertain degree. What happens with some people imho is that this becomes a spiralling blush-panic-because-I'm-blushing-blush-some-more-panic-some-more-blush-even-more-panic etc spiral that gets out of control. I find that the spiralling out of control blushing or stuttering is the difference between the average person who blushes and the person with eg a social phobia who blushes.
What do you think?
