Yes - I have finally tried some EFT! (sorry about the shock Caroline but at least you were sitting down!)
One quick question - oh..maybe two...
How often should you repeat the sequence?
Does it matter which side / hand its done with? do you need to use your dominant hand or is that irrelevant?
Ta!
Celia
Sorry to hijack your thread a little, don't have any answers to your questions but I'm booked into having an EFT inductory workshop in a few weeks and will do the level 1 in December and I'm so excited. I just wanted to find out what you thought if it?

Congratulation on joining the tapping "mafia"! (I've just come back from the EFT Masterclass in London and really, these folk tend to be a such lovely bunch of people, even if I say so myself! ;))
Re. how often to repeat the sequence - in one tapping session, I would continue until you feel the relief /release - which can manifest itself in a variety of ways, including sense of lightness, energy, clarity, calm, peace, the sense of "being done/finished" etc, and can be accompanied by yawning, sighing, laughing etc. On the other hand, some beginners (including me when I first started) don't feel very much at all at first and it is difficult to tell if you are "done". I would aim for some sense of completion, at least partial.
In terms of how often to tap during the day, I recommend to my clients to tap a couple of times a day routinely (like brushing teeth) plus at points of heightened emotion / upset (important to note that we are NOT trying to get rid of the emotion, just help it process without getting stuck along the way).
No it does not matter which side to tap on; some people like to tap on both sides as they feel more balanced this way, I usually use one. Sometimes if you use one side for a long time it can get a little desensitised so you can then swap to the other side.
Have fun with it!

I am doing levels 1 and 2 next month. I have little experience of this therapy but have heard such great things about it , i tok the plunge and booked the course- really exited but just dont know what to expect!

I quite like this shortcut method which uses both hands. I'm not an EFT-devotee (yet!). I guess I'll be joining you all when the time is right.

That's how I started, straight onto a practitioners course.
We were asked to read the free downloadable manual before we went to familiarise ourselves with the basic process at which point I read through it and just thought "what the hell have I let myself in for... tapping on my body and saying a phrase over and over again?" Fortunately though the course was very enjoyable (Dez Sellars is a great teacher) and the proof was in the pudding as we all dealt with our own issues during our practice of the techniques.
I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Celia,
I concur with what Masha says.
Repeat the sequence till you get your score down to 0 or to a level you are comfortable with. On a daily basis, just tap every time something comes to mind or becomes an issue. It can be tricky treating yourself, but practice, practice and more practice...
As for which side, some say that a better energy balance is achieved (and the score will go down more quickly) if you tap on both sides. In the CER technique of FreewayCER, it involves tapping on both sides and finishes with a yawn to help release. The tapping on both sides is for the very reason of having balance in the meridian system.

Hi Celia
Sorry I didn't answer sooner - been a bit preoccupied.
Yes, I thoroughly agree with Masha and Giles. It really is an amazing technique - even if a bit bizarre to start with, but you soon feel comfortable with it. I would also agree with Masha that the practitioners are a wonderful bunch of people - I'd love to have gone to the conference, but it just wasn't to be. Why not start with a level 1 training?

PS Thanks for the chair!!
Thank you for all your replies - very helpful.
I will keep plugging away at it - and keep an open mind on how it goes.
Thanks for the comments re CER Giles - had a look at the web page and some downloads - interesting..
There are a few courses I would like to try when finances permit so maybe EFT will join the list
Have a good day
Celia
