How I miss massaging in the UK, where most people respect your time. I am at the back end of a promotional deal abroad where people get introduced to alternative therapy via massage and just had the worst piece of wood client you can imagine. They just lay there wide awake stiff as a board for 2 hours, refusing any attempt to engage in conversation or any kind of chit chat or feedback. Finally after 2 agonisingly lonely hours with this piece of wood, he gets dressed and tries to have a long and protracted conversation with me on my time afterwards. In retrospect, I should have claimed suddenly feeling like vomiting, grabbing the clinic key and ushering him out quickly, saying sorry suddenly have to go get sick or have diarrhoea or something. But hindsight is 20-20 vision. I usually hold the door so they get out but he hit me with sudden conversation from nowhere, and I was caught off guard. It was a very uncomfortable and disrespectful conversation. Got him out in the end...
