Would kinesiology help with my ibs? A friend has been seeing someone and reckons it would be good for me? She says it will be able to determine which foods i should avoid. I dont understand how it works but am really interested. Can anyone give me a simple explanation?;)

RE: will it help with ibs?

yes - if you are sensitive/allergic to some foods.

Kinesiologist will test reaction of your muscle to some foods and that way detect the allergen.

As you mentioned on your other thread (digestive problems forum) origin of you illness most probably is somewhere else.

In any case - try top quality manuka honey.

kinesiology is not just about food/allergy testing. it operates on all three levels: mind/body/spirit. a good systemic kinesiologist will be able to find out exactly where your body is out of balance and help it rebalance itself. It operates on the basis that all symptoms come from the spirit (or emotions). when this is not addressed, the mind is next troubled. when this is not addressed , physical symptoms appear. it is not necessary for the therapist to know what is troubling you as the body will 'talk' to the therapist thru muscle responses. whatever weakens the body needs to be dealt with.
to find a good therapist, contact ASK. Speaking from personal experience, I have found this therapy to be extremely effective. My daughter was also helped after a serious car accident. The physio signed her off after only 3 visits and said he had never seen anyone heal so fast after receiving such severe injuries. she was back in school after only 2 months having been hit by a car and thrown a few feet, breaking both arms, a leg (the ankle joint), and injuring her pelvis. The kinesiologist visited her in hospital and came once a week to treat her. I'd say give it a shot.
