I have been reading Donna Eden's book, Energy Medicine which seem to use a lot of muscle testing and I have experienced it also. But I live alone and her self-testing method involved using a weight that can be lifted with a positive thought or item but not with a negative one. I can't figure out how much and also wouldn't it change as my arm muscles got stronger with all this weight lifting ?

RE: Self-testing
I would say that it's not so much how heavy the weight is, but whether the muscles are 'switched on' or is it a real strain.
Have you tried it yet?
There are various other self muiscle tests, but they do take a bit of explaining.

RE: Self-testing
There are a number of other ways you can self test without the weights, I use this one. Stand up straight and close your eyes, then ask something like is my name Sonya and see which way you sway .. that will be yes, then try something like is my name Fred and again which ever way you sway will be no. The hold a little of what you are testing in your hand and stand up straight, close your eyes and think is this good for me and again see which way you sway.

You can also try using a pendulum to contact your higher self/body consciousness.

Another way is to put your index finger and thumb together and 'circle' the index finger round clockwise. Say 'Yes' and observe the feeling. Then say 'no' and see what you feel.
Tip: It might help to have your eyes closed for the yes & no bits as you need to concentrate on 'feeling' rather than seeing....
RE: Self-testing
I saw this 'switching on/off' of muscles when an osteopath used it for muscle testing my son. He tapped one side of his elbow and all the strength from his arm disappeared, tapped it again and he was able to resist force. Very odd! I would love to know more about this and how it works, but haven't found any texts that help - that said I haven't looked very hard, so can anyone recommend a book??
RE: Self-testing
When you tap a certain point, the body doesnt quite know what the muscle is supposed to do, so it 'switches off' temporarily - ie isnt working. To do accurate testing, you need to know that a muscle will switch on and off, otherwise the results are false!
I use my thumb and ring finger as I find it a better circuit than thumb and index, but I think it is a matter of choice.

RE: Self-testing
In my Kinesiology course, a strong muscle can be weakened by either:
1. Tapping the Neurovascular points relating to the muscle
2. Waving (to stir the aura) over the neurolymphatic points relating to the muscle
3. Running hands in OPPOSITE direction of the related meridien
4. Putting a 5,ooo gauz (spelling?) magnet in the middle of the muscle
Any one of the above will do. It is VERY important to use a muscle that you intend to use as a test muscle that can be switched on and off with one of the above methods, otherwise it is known as being 'hypertonic' which means it's too toned. A muscle that is hypertonic often relates to some food intollerance interfereing with functioning.
Hope that helps (and makes sense!)

The only thing to be aware of with this technique MC is that the person being tested may have another personality or past life that only their unconscious mind knows about, so by asking Sonya to say "is my name Fred" could actually come out as a positive as well. Just something to watch out for.

Donna Edens - Energy Medicine is a good book for starters although I'm not sure if it covers the switching on/off of muscles as I've only skimmed through it so far. I would recommend buying it over the web from America if I were you though cos you can get it for a fraction of the price you'd pay for it over here (I did!)

RE: Self-testing
thanks giles. I am hoping to be in America in July so will try to get a copy then. I find the whole subject fascinating!
RE: Self-testing
Donna Eden also has the videos to accompany the book, which are absolutely brilliant. I mnaged to borrow them and was very impressed.
