Hi all, have been seeing a homeopath for an eye problem, she gave me a few tabs and I was taking 3 daily for 3 days, came off them yesterday and due back in 10 days for review.Since coming off them my stomach has ached and my eyes are very red today and sore.I know I must speak with my practitioner about this and should contact her before my appointment but what does everyone think?

This is a bit worrying - do you have a firm diagnosis of what is being treated? Many quite serious underlying health problems can manifest in the eye - not necessarily as problems, but things that the optician will spot. It's very unlikley that you will have a reaction to withdrawing homeopathic treatments, so it looks as is there are other issues not necessarilily with the eyes.

ok, I awoke this morning with symptoms of conjuntivitis, have contacted my homeopath and she said it was a cleansing, not sure what to make of that,my initial eye problem was that at aged 4 I had an accident and always had less vision in that eye and lately it seemed to get worse.Have had many eye tests but they always say my eyesight is ok, just need glasses for reading and TV.
The remedy was Belladonna

Belladonna is also known as eyebright, so it's THE homeopathic remedy for eyes, and is also used in it's natural form in medical treamtents for enlarging the iris (or it certainly was in olden days, I think it's a pharmaceutical derivative that's used nowadays).

When taking homeopathic remedies it's important to keep a note of any changes that happen when taking or stopping the remedies and to discuss these changes with your homeopath. It is also wise to see your GP, if the symptoms are physical and something that could need medical attention.

Hi, I can't comment on the homeopathic treatment received but just for the record and to save confusion if anyone else reads the thread:-
Belladonna is actually derived from the plant deadly nightshade and the homeopathic remedy is used for a wide range of conditions which may include eye symptoms.
Eyebright is something different- it's the common name for Euphrasia, which is also used for eye conditions, if the picture fits.

Ah, thanks hom. I was going from memory and looks like I've confused the two. You are of course correct.
