Hi all
I know the answer to the title should be yes but hear me out and give me your opinions please
I am really busy at the moment, not grumbling at all but a few months ago I was ill on and off for a month with a nasty virus, cancelling clients, rescheduling them etc etc, anyway today is my day off , thank goodness, but last night I came down with a flaming cold again......I have three clients tomorrow, same fri and sat, just wondered what to do?
One of the clients tomorrow has cancelled herself 3 times over the last month (with me) through to a cold/bugs etc, I feel terrible if I have to ring her up and tell her I can't treat!
would it be acceptable to ring them and give them the option to come or not and maybe wear a mask (whilst doing a facial)? or is that just going over the top?
all opinions appreciated, cheers Susan
I would say it depends on what types of treatments you have them booked for and how you feel. I checked out your link and I saw that you do a number of therapies. For Reiki, yes, you could still do the treatments as it would help you to heal at the same time.
For massage, I would say not to do it since it would wear you out quickly.
Hi thanks for that....
mostly sitting down treatments, just a few back massages inbetween that only take 25 mins and they are aromatherapy so not the heavy stuff!
Ah, that sounds OK then. As long as your nose isn't dripping or you're not coughing all over the client. :p I'm sure the aromatherapy will help you too. You could use eucalyptus or tea tree oil on yourself before you start the treatments.
ah...what I relief to hear someone say it should be fine......never know if I'm doing the right thing or not and when you work for yourself you just can't afford to turn people away.................by the way, think this was caught of one of the clients that came a last week...mmm
Hiya Susand, i would go ahead with it too and have done so on many occassions. If i have clients who are particularly vulnerable, then i usually text or call them to let them know that i have a cold and if they want to cancel i understand. Usually thats pregnant clients, those with a weak immune system or the elderly clients.
I don't worry about it too much though, especially as i have many clients who come to me when they have colds too:) When i do tell people that i have a cold they usually say its fine but tell me that only work if i am up to it.
To be honest, i tend to think clients are far more interested in having their treatments no matter what, then missing out to you having a cold! I know my clients are sympathetic but they like to have their treatments, hence why Christmas is such a busy time with everyone trying to get their appointment in before its too late.
I tend to think go with how you feel, if you think you can cope and won't be sneezing and coughing all the time then you should be fine.
Get plenty of rest and take it easy when you get. Get better soon.x
After all that, 9 clients cancelled, my so called cold turned into full blown flu, this will be my second full day in bed, just not what you need is it?
thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post and happy yuletide greetings to you all xxx
Oh no, Susan. Just rest and take care of yourself first! This time of year is horrendous for stress and getting sick, but you need to look out for number one.
