hello

not to worry
which county do you live in ?

myself and two friends last year elped the insular order of druids
perform two handfastings
one was in a lovely littel grove of trees in Southick
and the other was on a Council estate in rouner ( gosport)

vaired to say the least

depending on where you live , but even if you find the nearest new age shop
and ask there , even try the university , they may hold a pagan society
and there should be memebers who can do it or know people who can

Pagan fed is ok , but not really up so date with the various groups
ling around the uk

not to worry
if its ment to be , you'll find them

hope it goes well
bright blessings 🙂

Hi Junior,

Most of the pagans I know either don't drink alcohol at all, or only in moderation. Also, you can get access to handfasting through various websites, but I do know of groups who perform handfasting ceremonies, but you do have to attend their moots first and then be invited to their open rituals which are invitation only. It is just like a christian church, where you have to be formerly introduced to the group and then the ceremony.

I don't know how far you are prepared to travel, but we live near Potsmouth, Hampshire, and I could put you in touch with some groups around here, if it is not too far. Good luck anyway!

Old Lammas-12th August

Today 12th August was traditionally the best day of the year for " handfast marriages "- This was a trial union in which either party was free to end after one year, without the social stigma of divorce.....today was also the day crop fields were thrown open for Winter grazing....

Hi there,
I know this conversation was had a while ago but I've only just come across it. I'm not a pagan as such although the whole 'alternative' religion thing does interest me. The real reason I'm contacting you though is because I work for the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and we are thinking about doing some sort of pagan ceremony on Sat 21 June (summer solstice) at the top of the tower as the sun rises. Would you be interested in helping us do something? If not, do you know of anyone who might?
Many thanks,
Keira.
