Hi
I recently started the VTCT Swedish Massage at my local college. The tutor we get for A&P has said that there is no final exam - just continuous assessment. Does this sound right?
I don't like to accuse him of making a mistake, but from reading these forums I understood that there was a final exam involved (plenty of talk about past papers etc).
Is this perhaps something new? Or could it be that different colleges adopt different procedures? I would have thought that every college would have to follow guidelines set by VTCT?
Thanks for reading!

Are you doing A&P as a separate qualification to the swedish massage? VTCT swedish massage includes some study of A&P to give you a grounding in how the body works, and this is assessed through continuous assessment, but forms part of the whole swedish massage certificate.
This is different to the separate VTCT A&P diploma, which is more in depth than the basic A&P study included in the practical therapies.
I did VTCT A&P in 2004 and we had continuous assessment, which built up to be our portfolio of evidence, plus a final exam, which was multi-choice.

Thanks Ali
I guess I was getting the two mixed up. It's the VTCT Swedish Massage that I'm doing, so I guess from what you're saying that there is no final exam (woohoo!).
Thanks for your help!
