I've started looking at courses that will help me learn more advanced techniques. The only local ITEC course is the sports massage. Now I'm not really into sports, but looking at the syllabus it does seem to include some of the skills I'm keen to learn more about. The other option is a 1 or 2 day advanced technniques course, but would a short course like this be sufficient? Can anyone offer any advice or options....

Hi Clarabelle,

I've attended lots of 1 day course that specialise in MET, NMT, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point just to name a few. A day course is sufficient if you have the skill base to build on. There are some good schools in London

Quantum Metta - http://www.quantummetta.co.uk/

Jane Johnson's The London Massage Company - http://www.thelondonmassagecompany.com/

Jing Massage in Brighton - http://www.jingmassage.com/

These are just 3 schools that I know of, google and you'll find what you're looking for.

Always remember a brilliant therapist isn't just someone with good grades and knowledge, it's someone who can use the knowledge in an intuitive, sensitive and caring way.

All the best, Sue

Many thanks Sue. The Jing courses look just the sort of thing I was looking for!

Hi Clarabelle,

I started learning with Jing a few years ago and I'm still doing courses with them. There are so many courses to choose from but you just can go at your own pace and choose what you feel you need help wih and/or the issues that your clients are coming to you with. The courses are very hands on and what you learn you can start using on your clients straight away. A good starting point is the 3 day Advanced massage course.

I've heard that Jane Johnson is good but as yet I've not done any training with her.

Good Luck
