RE: Wireless danger
You could be right there Patsy, but what got me thinking about it was the danger that has been found living near pylons and, more recently, mobile phone masts. Cancer and genetic abnormalities seem to be more frequent if you live near these things, and I would think wireless is similar. Maybe someone can correct me and say "no wireless for PCs and the home use a different type of wavelength..." etc?
Looking forward to becoming a cyborg! 😉
RE: Wireless danger
Do you know what, caveman? I think that some people are subject to cancers caused by electricity pylons and others not. My brother used to live across the road from a pylon when he lived in Colnbrook. Neither he, nor his neighbours suffered with any signs of cancer or had ill effects at all. The only thing was, that the power lines used to 'buzz' at night sometimes - impressive blue flashes would light up the surrounding sky.
I think it just depends on a person's make up. A lot of people live with electrical equpment quite well. I was told not to put a clock radio in my bedroom because it would 'interfere with sleep' but I sleep like a log, and have done ever since I put one there.
We are living among many electrical and radio waves every day of our lives, just the energy from space. I think that we are pretty safe.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: Wireless danger
I agree and disagree.
I once visited friends who lived on the 1st floor of a house right under a huge electrical pylon (gosh, it was too late to come back home, as it was abroad, and I stayed there for 5 days, worried every hour!).
The old man below "seemed" ok, by contrast with his departed wife who had had cancer. I saw "seemed" because nobody could say in what ptimum health he was: tired? with recurrent colds? headaches? insomnia? psychilogical problems? we will never know.
What i can say is that my friends were desperate to move out, and told us their computers, tv and hi-fi could swicth themselves on or off just like that! same for their watches: the hand could go faster suddenly.
As for me, I actually feel the waves emanating from this computer, and the longer it is on the stronger they feel, so I try not to have it switched on for long...
I agree people are tsronger or weaker in their sensitivites to radio waves, but I think we are not - yet - immune or shielded to these waves and in the end, anyone would benefit from staying far from sources of emission. I believe, according to the Homeopathic principles, that if you don't get the illness yourself, you pass it on to your descendants.
Which brings us back to the eventual immunisation of humanity against radioactivity: but before that happens in the very far future, illnesses will take their toll.
Sorry to be pessimistic but for 3 African prostitute women whohave becomeIMMUNE (yes!) by repated exposure, millions of African have dided and are dying of HIV/AIDS.

caveman
Its been a while since visiting these forums and what passes for "science" is still mostly hearsay and voodoo.
Please tell me Caveman where did you here this, down the pub, in the tabliods or more likely on the healthpages science forum.
I would be happy to give a scientific explaination of why having a mobile phone mast on your roof could be sold as a health benifit in the "holistic" field, if anyone is interested.
