I actually think it would be a good thing to post a link to this thread:

.... on the Science forum here, for the atheists and agnostics to read. 🙂

RE: NDE Link

My opinon, I went for a simple operation which went wrong. I was clinicly dead for around 10 mins & the doctors, what I can remeber need to actually get on me & punch me in the chest. I was revived. Lucky me. But when I woke I remeber nothing just that I fell asleep & woke up with loads of wires in me. So my experiance of the above topic is when you die. You just sleep & never wake up. No bright lights, no out of the body experiance.

This is not to disappoint anybody, its my opionon.

Tut tut V, you should know better than to generalize people who have scientific interests, into a classification of atheists and agnostics. [sm=nono.gif]

That's better. 😉

I found it an interestingly written story, but not anything "new". People (myself included) have been meditating and experiencing similar things for many years. I don't quite see the relevance of it in the Scientific forum as it's no proof one way or another.

I did find it interesting that the person had no recall of the NDE once "returned" to their body, but only started to recall bits of it after a period of time. Why would that be? I only seems to discredit the story in some way by implying that the author was so pleased with their "miracle" of being healed that they sought answers and the thoughts that make up their story came to them and they just attributed it to a NDE.

I'd have to go and look up other NDE's but I'm sure most people who have them wake up and instantly ask questions about this and that and clearly have recall of those experiences straight away.

RE: NDE Link

Hi Giles,

No, I don't classify all scientists as agnostics or atheists. ;)But so far as I can recall, this is the only part of HP where people have often come out and said they are such.

It is somewhat unusual not to recollect immediately, yes. But it sounds like a far more "cosmic" experience than the normal "ho-hum" NDE.

In an OOBE I believe I had aged 12, it took maybe 20 minutes after waking to recollect it all. Those who believe they recall their past lives (without hypnotism or help) tend to get the recollection bit by bit, and then another life maybe, etc., at certain ages.

So I agree it's unusual, but if we accept the experience it sounds to me that it took him far much further than a normal NDE, and I'd put it down to that. The memory took a while to filter through to the physical brain.
