RE: inteligent design
I still don't understand David, how god could possibly change the laws of physics.

RE: inteligent design
If God didn't create those Laws, then they created God. If they created God and limit God, then they pre-date God. So then who created the Laws? Well - a Creator. So, that's God. The Idea of God is of the Creator of the whole Universe and everything in it. God can create, preserve, or uncreate.
We'd say that there's a Law of Gravity - what goes up must come down. Yet IMO yogies who are at-one with God, but not those known publicly today, could levitate. You and I are visible, but Jesus "escaped" hordes wishing to kill him by apparently - if you read between lines - disappearing.
I do poke fun at a lot of New Age stuff, but ultimately I do believe that the Earth can be pulled up into a "higher vibration". Then some colours of the rainbow may be different, various Laws of Nature may work differently, and there is no ageing process perhaps. Etc, etc.
RE: inteligent design
I think, Patsy, it's a question of faith. You are a scientist and thus for you the laws of physics are absolute. I am more of a mystical bent so have no problem with the idea that ANYTHING if possible. Water into wine, feeding the five thousand, walking on water, ascending bodily into heaven, raising (and rising) from the dead...how do any of Christ's miracles conform to the Laws of Physics? Possibly the whole point is that I am prepared to accept that I do not understand...and will never understand....and for me it is not necessary to understand. I accept my beliefs and faith...I don't need proof. (Although the proof is also there.)

Why not so, sunanda? Just because God is omnipresent, it doesn't mean he doesn't work in accordance with natural boundaries.
Patsy.
I missed this one.
Whoa, a bit early in the morning and I have to get on. But God is outside those boundaries. He is Unbound.
I used to have this simply fascinating little game I'd play when I was a just terrible little boy!! I had one of those plastic mazes which you have to roll tiny ball-bearings along to get to the way out. The top was perspex. Well, apologies! - but I used to prize open the top and drop about 3 black ants into the maze, and 2 red ants. The fascination of then watching "my universe" outplay was in seeng the ants navigate around the maze and eventually bump into each other. Reds always fought blacks to the death on contact. Reds were more deadly so I'd put in a ratio of 2 against 3!
Most of that is irrelevant. The point is that the ants could have said, "Well this is our universe, and this is how it always will be. We have seen it all and we know it well. It hasn't changed. At this point you can go left or right, and right is not the way out." Etc., etc. In this case I was "god". Well - I could just go up the road, buy a different maze, and drop them into a different world with new bends in the road, or wider avenues. I could change the laws of their world because I was setting the boundaries, and they couldn't see beyond those boundaries, and couldn't, we might say, imagine another world.

RE: inteligent design
David, the point is - your game took place within natural laws. No matter how you changed it, it still complied with nature and the laws of physics.
Sunanda - I am not only a scientist, I am a medium too, and I have seen and heard things which were on the face of it, outside the laws of physics, but they were not. There is an explanation for everything.
I think that I am being 'ganged up on' here because I see rationality in god.
