Hello all:D

Do you think it could be possible that scientist know there is life after death, but dont want to the public to know??

I know that it would bring world credibility to the scientist that found out but......

think about the change in human behaviour, alot of people might kill themselves if life got to hard for them or they might want to join their loved ones that have past.

I know my life would change dramatically if we had scientific proof:D

I'm just thinking out aloud and wonder what you all think??!!:):D;)

Cheers!!

RE: Another Question!!

If you engage disbelieving scientists in debate about the afterlife, you are very soon left in no doubt that they truly have derision for the concept, and are genuinely hotly against the idea. 😉

RE: Another Question!!

Scientists (like many other people - and I include new age professionals in this too) are brilliant at deluding themselves. "No one is more indoctrinated than the indoctrinators."
They can neither prove nor disprove the existance of God. There are always going to be unexplained phenomena that will be written off as a trick.
Humanity has this amazing sself serving arrogance. Once upon a time we poured liquid mercury directly into a hole made in the head to cure headaches. There was complete scientific proof for this as an effective cure.
Why should we now arrogantly believe that we are right? Soon enough we will have moved on from global warming to some other world disaster that is going to take us.

Scientists (and sceptics) are trying to produce experiments to prove there is no after life and funnily enough they prove it. Just as scientists workiong for sugar companies prove that sugar isn't a cause of making the current generation the most obese we have ever had, fluride is good for people and that in the 50's smoking was good for you...

RE: Another Question!!

You bring up some good points FAS. Did you know that there is a lawyer offering $1m to anyone who can DISPROVE the existance of life after death? ([link= http://www.victorzammit.com ]www.victorzammit.com[/link])

RE: Another Question!!

Hi Gizmo
Very interesting points you raised. If life after death were proved by science, it would have an enormous impact on science because it would directly challenge the reductionist model upon which almost all conventional science is based. (If consciousness is dependent upon the collection of cells and atoms in the brain, and if the brain dies and decomposes... how does consciousness then survive?) If it were proved, holism would suddenly take precidence over reductionism, and the whole course of science would change.

Having said that: proof is never objective. And at this time scientists are not willing to destroy their profession, as we know it, with such a theory. (I recently wrote an article on the pseudo-objective aspect of science which you can find at [link= http://www.energygrid.com/science/2007/01ap-certainty.html ]http://www.energygrid.com/science/2007/01ap-certainty.html[/link]. It is a bit long and rambling, but it makes the point that even the scientific method itself has many subjective components... something that scientists themselves seem to avoid mentioning.)

With life after death... we have evidence now that it exists. But the question is how much weight we subjectively put on that evidence.
