I think East is fairly ethical, but they only sell clothes, no undies or shoes.

Ethical highstreet shopping is limited, but there's nothing wrong with a good Charity Shop in my opinion. I just LOVE shopping online at places like peopletree.co.uk and greenfibres, but charity shop buys compliment these purchases nicely.
By buying second hand you aren't swelling sweat-shop profits, but supporting your chosen charity. It's the second cycle of ownership, and you're rescuing piles of fabric from being landfilled.
It's a good job that the Vintage/charity shop look is in vogue though, or we'd look a bit silly!
Yep, not to mention the omission of the environmental impact when creating and shipping new garments to a shop.
The charity shops we see in the high street have less ethics than most shops.
Many charities are no longer what we assume charities to be but rather over teh years have turned into businesses .
For example British heart foundation are on par with Cancer Research UK and exploit animals and people for profit.
Many of the directors of these companies are also on ££££multi million salaries, most of this is paid for when people donate to the charity, thinking they are helping people , when they are just exploiting animals and people.
See 'British Heartless foundation' for more details.
I've got to go now but I'll post up some info for you later about which high street shops are the 'best of a bad bunch' if that makes sense lol.
