I use Sainsbury large re-useable carriers for my shopping. They are so much more convenient for actually carrying the shopping and fit nicely in the boot! Making unloading easier too. I keep them in the boot, so I dont forget to take them out with me and if I do get to the checkout and find I've left them in the boot, I go out and get them. My husband thinks I am mad, but I really hate having loads of plastic bags hanging about. I dont have enough rubbish to use them as bin liners as we have to recycle everything. I have started putting them into the recycling waste, as they are now accepted. I do also hate the amount of carriers used when I have my shopping delivered and will, as suggested, give the carriers back.

I agree with the suggestion that manufacturers should reduce their packaging - then my recycling waste bags wouldn't get so full. Once you start separating your waste it is quite alarming to see how much stuff, that can be recycled, is really just a waste in the first place.

My family are becoming more recycle friendly now. At first I kept shouting that they have put stuff in the wrong bin, but they are used to now and my bins are now 'the recycle bin' and 'the food bin'. I like to think I am doing my bit to help with the enviroment but I do wonder just what happens to the recycled waste I put out every fortnight. Some countries use recycled waste to provide energy in purpose built power stations, which seems a much more efficient way of recycling.

yes i wonder about that because when i go to the tip, i get told to put it in the general skip and they will sort it, but i do wonder! when they come to empty my recycle bins they seem to seperate every thing, maybe they should show ads on tv showing what happens to our waste
