I'm just a normal 24 year old guy. A few weeks ago I bought a new razor for shaving, Gillette Fusion I think its called. Anyway, when the spare razors that came with the actual razor ran out I bought new ones. They were even more expensive than what I bought the razor and the 2 spares for.
They were in a thick plastic casing, then more plastic casing.
I feel a bit ripped off as I was paying for the packaging. What is the most eco friendly and cheap way to shave?
That's the same with printers these days. It's cheaper to keep buying a new printer every couple of years. 🙁

Hmmm, not sure what would be the most eco, but consider the following...
Electric rechargable shaver - blades don't need changing as often and it's power is rechargable, however some may say that rechargable batteries use more power in charging than just plugging straight into the mains, so a mains powered shaver may be even better. I don't have any facts on these to determine one or the other.
Manual shaving - I'm not sure if you can still get them, but there used to be shavers that were a sturdy metal handle and head fitment. You then used to fit these with plain razor blades, which came simply packaged. This would obviously be more eco friendly than the modern fashion of having all the plasic and packaging and replacing it every few months. Unfortunately most companies rely on people wanting to have the latest stylish thing, or perhaps more unfortunately, people actually fall for their marketing. 😉

I remember seeing adverts (can't remember where) for a little pyramid thingy. You were supposed to place your used razor blades underneath it for a specified amount of time and they would emerge nice and sharp again. (I don't know anyone who tried it!)

I also use the fusion razors and although they may be not very Eco friendly all the plastic etc can be recycled and I must say in their favour they are the best bloody razor I have ever used..
